Are Blues missing a trick?

We are doing fantastically well and the moment and in seasons gone by even in this division that would have seen the crowds swell but at this moment in time we are averaging about 17k home fans and this doesn't seem to alter much.

It is a shame because we are playing some of the best football ever seen at the blues and have a manager that needs our support.

My questions is are the board missing a trick? Now I know they set out their prices at the start of the season and to keep it fair to season ticket holders they can't reduce the prices too much.

However I am a season ticket holder and I am so because I like to sit in the same seat every game next to my Dad and Brother not because it is cheaper than a game to game basis.

Now looking at the Forest and Derby games, the Forest game is £27 and the Derby game is £30. They are doing an offer that if you buy 5 tickets you get the 6th one free but judging on the hull game the uptake was not great on that offer.

Forest and Derby will bring good following's as they always do so that will bring the crowds up to about 20K but do we want to be out sung and laughed at by our east midland rivals?

If you are a season ticket holder would it bother you if the board dropped the prices for the remaining games to say £15 to get the fans back?

If your not a season ticket holder or someone who doesn't go to games regularly would you come back if the board dropped the prices to £15 or is there another reason why you can't make it. I know a few on here like Mackem it is because of the distance but if you live in Birmingham why are you not coming down to St Andrews?

I think its a combination of factors. One thing is for certain though; they will all come crawling out the woodwork if we are in the play-off/fa cup final!!!

We should be getting at least 25+ for the football we are playing and league position.

Could be the economic climate/anger towards the current board, to be honest I get quite annoyed about the lack of support given some of the numbers I know we are capable of.

I think the club should run the infamous "your country needs you" type poster and publish it in The Mail and The Argos ( not sure if the argos is still running as it's been 10 years since Ieft brum!).

I make it whenever I can the travel is a pain but if it does not affect work I get there, been manager of a night club its obvious my work is a weekend so if kick off on a saturday is 3 and my travel is over 2 hours I cant make it to the game, but tuesday, wednesday and sunday games I get to and have been to 14 league games this season but only 5 at st.andrews.

Generally I prefer away games but I remember how it used to be at home when i first started going and it was like an away game where every fan sings stands and screams, very hostile and an amazing experience.

Blues fans are moaners now, no if's no buts just moaners, turned out in numbers for semi finals, europa league games etc but when were home to coventry its all "board this, board that", ticket prices arent too bad, the football is very good a 300% improvement of the stuff i witnessed under bruce/mcleish, the transfer window is shut so cant be moaning about selling players, always an exucse and live 10 minutes from the ground.

I guarentee first game of a premier league season home to man u/city/villa and they'd all be back. I'd love all the fans and the intimidating atmosphere back but if the same bunch of moaners turn up like the preston game we lost 2-1 meaning we had to go to reading and win for example turn up, who didnt even have the decency to cheer the team during there lap of honour turn up then i'd rather have 17,000 than a stadium full of them

My work dictates that I have to be elsewhere some Saturdays.
One thing the board cocked up on was charging £30 when the game is live on TV.
Look at the crowds when they charged £10 or £15 for the Euro's. Bumper attendances because it was affordable even though ESPN stuck on live.
Personally, I've been to more games this season than the last 10 years mainly because I've moved back to Brum. Even the away game tally has shot up, Peterboro, Wolves, Sheffield, Chelsea.
So I think a lot is down to affordability more than the brand of football although you will always get those who find any small, weak excuse not to go. Unless its a Cup Final of course..And I never got to go to that one either !!

Here here Mackem. Without being too OTT about it I'd ban the moaners from the ground!

There's a guy in front my dad in the tilton who moans. For 90 minutes. Even if we're winning. He knows f all about football; Fahey, prev Jerome, always Zigic are his favourite targets. At the West Ham game ( I'd had a few), I gave him both barrells. We scored the equaliser and he just looked at me, slightly embarressed.

During the semi-final against the same team, I nipped out for a CIG and it was like being surrounded by a 1000 victor meldrews. I can understand being frustrated, venting your anger at want away players, but seriously if you are one of the moaners do yourself and a favour and either a) jog on to vile park or b) don't bother turning up. Save yourself the money and annoying proper fans. It's a win win situation.

No moaners in site last night at Barnsley!

Before and during the game should be no moaning down the pub, or phone in's after the game is where you vent frustration out.

A bloke behind me in the tilton before constantly got at jerome, jerome scored and i turned round to look at the bloke and this bloke wasnt even celebrating just sat in his seat with his arms folding shaking his head, I mean what is the point of going?

Another bloke behind me about 70 he must have been, away to notts forest a few years back was talking to his little old mate saying if we scored he wouldnt celebrate because mcleish was a pile of rubbish and wanted us to not to go up so we got rid of him.

People all around the ground at blues have people like them examples sat next to them and i'd rather people like that not go, yes i've had the odd moan like when we lost away to wigan last season i said if we didnt get rid of mcleish we'd go down. Every one is entitled to have a moan on facebook/twitter/606/talksport/brmb etc but dont do it in the ground it doesnt help any one especially not the scapegoat players!

Yeah the level of moaners at blues have increased 10 fold in the last 5 seasons.

I sit in the tilton too and there is a bloke with his wife who sit behind my dad and moan constantly.

There is a bloke two rows back with big gob who thinks he is playing champ manager and has no idea what he is talking about!

I have learned to block out the moaners this season, their just not worth the hassle of getting into rows with. I had about 5 arguments last season but this season have just enjoyed the football and let the moaners carry on. The funny thing is when nobody argues back with them they get bored and give up after awhile!

Sooner or later they are going to eat humble pie; either promotion or the FA CUP - CH will deliver success this season.

I even had a little bit ( not too much) of sympathy with the moaners when we had the ginger one as the football was awful. Constantly harping about the days of latchford, hatton, francis et al ( lucky ba5t3rds!) when we played exciting football. Well guess what, we might not have those players, but we are attacking, we are winning and we play with some style. So what's the excuse? I guess some people just like too moan. You could give them a winning lottery ticket and they'd complain about having to go to London to cash the cheque.

Lets not forget that when Mcjudas got us out of this league, he had none of the hassle that CH is having to endure. He had No euro games to contend with, the owner was not banged up in the nick, the football was dire and that season we did not win any games by more than one goal. Can you spot the differences?? regarding numbers down stans,i have only seen 5 home league games and 3 europa games as i tend to work most saturdays and i also work shifts.I go when i can, hence why i dont purchase a season ticket as its pointless for the above reason.
