Torres may still disappoint at Chelsea

He may have a complex problem, at Liverpool he was treated like a demigod, everything revolves around him but at Chelsea he had to play with several players just as good as he is, some even better, so he just couldn't get it right cos he was always conscious of himself, indecisive, and most times ended up making the wrong decisions. When he makes mistakes he tries to look indifferent amidst the disappointing look from his team mates, maybe he should offer a wave of apology like the more confident Drogba and Anelka. Anyway if he can work on his mindset and accept himself as part of the team, forget about how much he cost the team I am sure he can fit in. I was a potent striker in high school and I know how it feels when a promising attack breaks down because of your mistakes, your team mates deserve an apology and next time you have to try to deliver. He probably came in thinking everything will revolve around him and when he failed in several attempts and Carlo reverted back to the reliable Didier it must have hurt his ego, I am sure he must have realised that he will never surpass Drogba's record and he should forget it, some people are just better than you. If he continues trying to be the king pin then he may yet again disappoint himself especially if the likes of Neyma and Sturridge come into the side, he might just be shoved aside and find himself on the bench again. if he should return to Liverpool he will excel again...

yeah i think and hope that villa boas cashes in on essien , drogba anelka and kalou essien is well past his best and we have ramires who i think is a superior player
i think didier off the field had alot to do with our plummet in form last year give him a move to marseille or offload to spurs and get modric anelka and malouda kalou can be replaced by sturridge and kakuta ( who i still think will be a star ) we need exciting young players mchechran to replace lamps to pull the strings as technically josh is better than lamps and i believ will be our answer to iniesta HE MUST BE KEPT AND PLAYED NEXT SEASON

bring in falcao neymar modric/ moutinho and NEYMAR ! god i hope we get him

he woudl come here be amazing for 2 3 season then madirid will buy him for 80 odd million ..........

as long as villa boas injects some excitemet flair and pace we will be fine

Carlo did not use him properly, tried to get a Torres-Drogba partnership going although it was painfully obvious that this would never work

Having said that, the state of the midfield did not exactly help his cause. You could have Henry and Ronaldo up front but if they're not getting any decent service they'll fail to provide. Ancelotti's dogged persistence with an aging Lampard and an off form Essien did him no favours in this regard

Wow its strange to see how some of you hold Essien in such low esteem just because of one season.

Do you really think he is a gonner? We will have him!

Thats just silly if they werent getting any service they would make it themselves.

Both Players could easily pick the ball up from their own half and take on half the team and score.

Yea I'd have to agree with BO$$, those 2 were players who regularly crafted their own chances and scored a good bit of those chances too.
But that said a good midfield is still very important as it takes care of the creation of chances so that strikers can put the bulk of their effort in actually getting into good positions and scoring.

On form essien is the best player we have! If we are getting rid of him for one poor season the whole squad needs putting up for sale!

I see Essien doing well under Boas

I don't think it's a given Torres will start scoring goals ilke some people seem to assume. I hope he gets better but it's not certain, espiecally on how he's played so far.

Bk

He hasn't looked bad at all. I think you're over-reacting a bit.
