dont complete the season ? I assume if they fold before May ( which appears a distinct possibility) , their record to date will be expunged and only 2 teams will be relegated from The Championship. If this is the case then teams who have already played Portsmouth and won/drawn will lose those points. This of course could have a strong bearing on promotion/relegation.
I have not checked other teams results but Burnley lost at home to Portsmouth and therefore could only gain from Pompeys demise.
Whilst I have nothing against Portsmouth (and I feel for their fans), it is surely time for them to fold. They were in this same position a couple of years ago and clearly the current situation is much worse. They could have sold players in January but chose not to and how HM Customs have allowed them to run up more unpaid taxes defies belief.
I will try research Pompeys fixtures to date and see what effect a closure would have on the table.
What will happen if Portsmouth

Its time for them to get sorted, go out and come back would be the best for all concerned.
They have a good fan base but its not huge and being allowed to drop out would give them the opportunity to come back a little more organised.
Just shows how good Kilby and the board are.

Hi Onts, I agree, it should be pay up or drop out. There should be no more chances.

Wanting to see a whole fan base see their team fold so that you can benefit by a couple of points. They beat you fair and square.
Desperate measures indeed

So you think Pompey should be allowed to continue to cheat The Football League and HMRC ? If all clubs were run as badly and Rovers, football would cease to exist.

Should say as badly as Pompey and Rovers

Its the loyal fans I feel sorry for no matter what club it is!

Star, I agree re the fans. Sadly though it is always the fans who pay the ultimate price. Managers and players are mercenary and just move on but the fans have no choice. I genuinely hope your owners are not taking you along the same road although I do fear the worst for you. If Glasgow Rangers are struggling then what chance do other clubs have. Having said all that I think Portsmouth have had every chance to put their house in order and it is time for them to fold.

We are in a bad way and it just gets worse, sure any team can lose to Arsenal,City and United but all the best players have gone and on the bbc sport it seems that Villa want Dann next season. At this moment in time anybody can win from playing Rovers, its not a happy place to be and im not loving it.

I still think you are better than Bolton, Wigan and QPR !
