Are people aware of the fact that the Republic of Ireland have the 4th highest average home attendances among all 51 Nations who are currently competing in the Qualifying groups for EURO 2012.
Considering tickets for ROI home matches are probably the most expensive in Europe this is a very good acheivement.
Bear in mind too that we have higher average attendances than many countries who have far bigger populations.
Thankfully the FAI have seen sense and dropped the prices to a more sensible level. This along with the fact we are in with a great chance of actually qualifying for the EURO Finals should ensure a 40,000 plus crowd for the visit of Slovakia in September.
Here are the top Average Attendances so far.
1. England 73,348
2. France 59,848
3. Germany 58,997
4. ROI 44,808
5. Scotland 44,186
The traditionally badly supported NIreland and Wales sides not surprisingly are way down the table.
25. NIreland 15,150
27. Wales 14,061.

So the ROI a country with 3 times the population of N.I has three time the amount of fans attending matches lol.............
You aint the brightest button in the box dude lol............

So going by a logic a country like England with 10 times the population of the ROI should be averaging crowds 10 times what the Republic get i.e 400,000

The Faroe Islands have 1/30th of the population of NI. Yet they had almost 2,000 (1/8th the average NI attendance) at the match with NI......and they took a point from it too!!

And Germany should be getting 500,000 at least to their matches as well!!!!!
NIreland will be doing very well to sell over 10,000 tickets for the impending visit of the mighty Faroes!!

Going by your logic Keane is better than Whiteside because he scored more international goals lol.......................
And Best as well???

Goals scored is a completely different metric to match attendance.
They are incomaparable.

Megan, it amazes me you still get bites but what I want to know is, what motivates you? How do you keep the character going day after day doing the same routine like a bad Little Britain sketch?
In fairness you have changed tact a wee bit here, make the suggestion that population size need to be equated to attendance then when someone else runs with your logic twist it into a bizarre claim about player ability. Nice one.
Pointless too of course, there is no comparison, Robbie Keane is still knocking in the goals at international level in his 30's. 'Bestie' and 'Big Norm' were both busted flushes in their 20's...........

Never said or hinted that keane was better than Best!! Best was a once in a lifetime player.
See unlike you, i am able to see beyond tribalism and acknowlegde that NIreland have had some good players down through the years. And you call me bitter
