Both the match report in the Burton Mail and Pesch will probably say we squandered chances, enjoyed a lot of good possession, were unlucky, played some great football, look like we will turn the corner soon, were dangerous and creative, the sending off changed the game etc etc

I wasn't there - all or some of the above may be true.

There was one player on the pitch who could tell us where we go wrong. Russ Penn. He probably looked at the way we were playing and had a nasty flashback to one year ago when he was playing for us.

We could have 90% of the possession, but with an inability to finish off any of the few chances we create then we are in trouble.

I can't believe it is the same players who were on occasions playing good, free-flowing football at the start of the season, and Russ Penn probably gave an audible "phew" today and was thankful for being on the home side.

No doubt our manager will tell you we were brilliant again. We again went with the 4-5-1 formation and its cant be described as anything else.Key and Palmer for Zola and Maghoma.We were abysmal first half giving the ball away time and time again.
At times we looked like a leaderless, rudderless & clueless ship.
The penalty was a bit dubious and well saved by Atkins.How we got to halftime only 1 down i'm not really sure.It could have been a lot more.Blandcett had a awful time and was replaced by new boy Ada.just after giving away the penalty.
Second half we did kind of revert to 4-4-2 and for a short period looked slighty better.Once Ada got his marching orders for a second booking the result was always about how many we would concede.
Pesch's new defensive formation of Austin & Stanton looked all at sea most of the afternoon.
Atkins made a couple of outstanding saves late on but there was only ever going to be one result from the moment the teams were announced.
Also there was about 200 away fans and there wasn't a whimper out of them all afternoon.
Not one worthwhile chant.
I was there today and i will be there at swindon on tuesday but on todays showing anything less than 3-0 defeat will be a good result.
Thats 8 points from 36. 1 win in 12.
How can anyone argue that Pesch hasn't got a clue.

Pez how many times have i got to say it, the players are just not good enough and if he plays a more attacking formation we will get well and truly stuffed.Brewerdave has finished on this site because of the negative comments,but its not us he wants to finish with its the idiot whos bringing in the playing staff.End of the season needs a clear out and that includes Pesc the man is no use or ornament.

Emnez, you say the players aren't good enough, but Bury, Rochdale and Stevenage to name but a few have got promotion in recent years with a bunch of distinctly average players, but players who can operate as a team and show commitment. That is the difference between us and them and I firmly believe that with some proper structure and organisation, we could achieve just as much.

Ok, you could take Blanchett, Corbett and the likes of Taylor and Phillips out of the mix, but we aren't too far from having a squad capable of big things, but the off field direction needs to be a whole lot better.

What really gripes is watching the opposition warm up at The Pirelli, teams on smaller budgets than us in some cases, but with three or four of their coaching staff organising them. What do we have - Rowett doing the job on his own.

The focus this summer should primarily be on the coaching set-up plus a couple of additions to the squad.

Wednesbury,i hear what you are saying my respected friend.The thing i have been saying all season is about the defence and midfield,for me my friend they are no where near good enough hence the formation we are playing and i will be truthful with you i would play the formation Pesc is with the squad he has assembled.Read my parting comment Wednesbury the man has got to go,FULL STOP.

That was my parting comment as well Emnez, there needs to be attention given to the coaching set-up, manager included. I guarantee a decent manager and new coaches could take most of the existing squad and turn them into a much better outfit. We've seen it done elsewhere a hundred times or more, so why not at Burton as well?

Wednesbury,agree a better manager with some tactical knowhow could change our fortunes.
Emnez my friend,yes agree some are not good enough and haven't been for a couple of seasons.
sadly i think it will get worse before it gets better.

Yes i fear it will get much worse and looking down the table sweating on who is picking up points as we free fall will be the norm.
We do have some very good players but with no positive direction from the manager they can't achieve anything. We also have quite a few players who are no where near good enough for league 2 and again that is the fault of the man that signed or re-signed them.
Pesch = poor decision making,showing no ability to change a game tactically over 90 minutes apart from negatively or hoofball !
