Hobbs

Sven must have several defensive targets all but in the bag to have authorised this now - Hobbs was always going to go it was just a case of when. Personally I wish the lad all the best; he was a stirling performer for us in 09/10 and always gave his very best while here. He wasn't ever going to be good enough to integrate into our new style and he needs several years more development before he'll make a Premiership player, which we hopefully won't be able to afford him. Jack's still a very decent Championship centre half though, and he'll do well under Nige once more I'm sure.

Not a surprise, but it still feels a bit like the end of an era. Good luck to Hobbs; I'm glad for him that he's getting his mentor back, although it's a shame that he seems unable to progress under Sven's style of football.

Good luck to Hobbsy, always gave it his best for us, I for one will miss him. Sol_the-wall_bamba now has two City shirts with names on - Hobbs and Mattock!! Anybody wanna buy them? I'll still wear the Hobbs shirt in honour of a fine young player - the Mattock one though will be on car-cleaning duties very shortly.

St Ledger - fee has been agreed with PNE - just waiting for SSL to come back off holiday - Apparently this was on the advice of Trapatoni. Wouldn't be surprised if Ben Mee is also lined up.

It could have been a different story , hope he does well under Pearsons guidance - he seemed a good sort and had a cracking season for us 09/10.

I'm disappointed...

...but not in the sense that we have lost a great player. I'm more disappointed in the fact that the lad was never really going to cut it in this new era we are embarking on.

Great lad, great professional and a really good player. Just not good enough for the level we are aiming for so I wish him all the best and in fairness it's a great move for him, the perfect manager for him to reach his potential.

Yeah, good luck to Hobbs. It's a shame he didn't have the teachnical ability to fit into Sven's plans because defensively he had a lot of potential.

Also, Sven said he wouldn't let Jack go until he had a replacement lined up so I'd expect a CB or two to come in pretty soon.
