Is today the day the great entertainers gave up the delusion of a title bid? Or are they still capable of anything other that CL qualification?
More immediately, what result do we want from them against the rags?
For weeks they have been built up as some sort of formidable attacking unit despite the fact they have scored less and conceded more than both us and United. Today is the day they believed the hype and they paid for it. Comprehensively outplayed and outmanned in the midfield (arguably their strongpoint) against an Arsenal side a shadow of their former selves.
Basically, yeah.

Garbage, any team can factor in a boatload of under 21's and say their squad is younger than it actually is.

I dont think these players have the ability to step up to the level that some of your previous purchases have. Don't forget that Ferdinand was £30m back when there wasn't much money floating around. For a CB that is phenomenal money, and I dont think you can maintain that level of spending.

we have changed our transfer philosophy about 5 or 6 years ago ever since we realised Chelsea would always outbid us. Of course we have won the title four times since then.

Key players in those achievements were purchased before your new approach.

Berbatov was 28 when you splashed out £30m+ on him 3 years ago.

and at the time it was stated he was an exception, and we only bought him to stop the noisey neigbours buying him. He is the only one though in the last 5 or 6 years unless you count Owen who was free.

Actually, he was on his way to you before we were even taken over, you just ended up paying 2m more than you first agreed to.

he was on his way to sign for City when Fergie picked him up at the airport.

You were scouting him months before our takeover, then you mugged him at the airport to make sure he signed for you guys
