Decent performance yesterday.

Thought Little really performed. Didn't realise he had as much pace as he showed yesterday, took his goal well also. Kerkar had another solid outing, really starting to grow into the shirt. Big Jig should have had 2 yesterday, seems like he's really enjoying his new/old role playing up front. Sone showed his class as well.

Good solid all round performance at a tricky ground. Now we just need to wait and see how many of the lads will still be with us come this time next week.

TBH i think the likes of Papac, Healy, Broadfoot, McCulloch Bartley will go i dont see davis n that going as they have just signed new deals and it would cost too much to pay off their contracts! thats just IMO though.

The other alternative is if all the sqaud are willing to take pay cuts untill the summer which will see very little go but who knows!

Gio

i agree, aluko could also go as he only has a deal till the summer.

think there is a strong chance davis and mcgregor will be sold in the summer, assuming we are still in business. it will be interesting to see if any players are offered a wage cut and if they take it, thinking whittaker especially, robbing cant

or rather they paid it but Whyte didnt pass on.

Method in the madness ... or what?

Guys, how are we today?

A few things being said on here that need clarified. Firstly, the administrators will do anything they can to ensure the running of the club on a day=to=day basis. This in no way accounts for what players may be f=worth in 4 months when the transfer window opens. The guys are trying to keep the club going and will remove anybody from the wage bill to ensure the club can progress next week.

Secondly, under the rules of administration players contracts do not have to be paid up if they are released. This process is effectively dismissal and is very harsh, but legal under the activities of administration.

It is unclear how bad the cuts will be, we will obviously find out soon. However they way this process works means that nobody has any security at all.

Ak

The first thing the administrators need to be able to do is to keep the business running whilst they try to come to an agreement with the creditors.

The second thing as i understand it is they need to keep the business running succesfully as they can for the good of the creditors. It seems to me if they can in some way keep things running to the summer with the majority of the playing pool they have that will benefit the creditors more in that they will be able to cash in on the assets at that stage.

For example, lets take McGregor who is on a reported 25k per week. Till the end of the season that is about 14 weeks which works out about £350k in wages. at the end of that 14 week period though Rangers should be able to bank about at least 3m+ for that asset. as a creditor i would rather see that 3m in 14 weeks than nothing just now.

I hope the reports of the players looking to take half wages until the end of the season are correct.

The administrators will take into account all players value as asstes and compare this to their take-home salary in the months leading up to the transfer window opening.
The main problem being, imo, that if we're still in administration then, we'll still have a transfer embargo on us and won't even be able to take on frees on cheap wages as replacements.

I think some of the lads will be able to take a paycut and take them through to the summer where they'll be allowed to move on.

There's the likes of Whittaker who is taking home over £100k a month and is currently sidelined anyway.
He'll be entitled to a big payout if they do cut him loose as he just signed a new 5-year contract.
Compensation will probably come into play too.

I suspect it will be more likely to be the guys who have next to no time left on their contract (certainly under a year) and are bigger earners.
It doesn't make sense to let players go now, if their contracts are up in the summer anyway (applies to a lot of the better players unfortunately - Kerkar, Aluko etc)

I can't begin to speculate who might be going, but if we weren't in desperate need of strikers, then I think Healy would probably go and then it may just be the youngsters who don't have much of a wage and shorter contracts, with little sell-on potential as things stand.

I worry that it may be Naismith or Lafferty, since they're out with injuries and have a year or so on their deals as things stand.

Correct

Administration is two fold, one to secure as best a deal for the creditors as possible whilst maintaining a viable business after it.

The administrator has pretty much the final say as to what constitutes the best deal for the creditors, but similarly, there needs to be cash in the business in order to pay them.

Depending on cash flow (i.e. supporters paying at the gate) players might need to go or accept a pay cut.

In general though, I think the long term high earners will be viewed as 'hold to summer' and sell in the eyes of the administrator, as long as cash exists to pay them until then.

Bluetoon Hope you had a good weekend bud.

Paisley is spot-on. The3 problem arises if thereisn't enough cash to hold them until the summer. In this instance the high earners will be the first to go and the club will subsequently rely on youth.

I don't think that any contracts need to be honoured in this process. People are discussing compensation, however I don't think that staff are entitled to this if there contracts are torn up.

AK

The contract is terminated and any clause on compensation just gets added to the unsecured creditor list and they will end up with the same pence in the pound deal other unsecured creditors get.

Assuming of course a CVA is agreed.
