At least it was worth it....

Well as the Rangers Football Club enter the 2nd full week of administration with investigations mounting faster than Ryan Giggs at a family reunion and the impending review of players and staff this week, to consol the masses I suppose you can look back over the period and think well at least all the spending was worth it...

Or was it?

Well the history books suggest not really...

You see when Sir Dave decided to get the ‘Little General’ and spend the likes of £12m on Flo etc and use his offset ability of the EBT’s thinking it would never catch up with him, all the while putting your club into debt that would make some of today’s EPL teams wince in fear, from the years 2000 onwards Rangers have amassed:

SPL titles – 6
Scottish Cup – 4
League Cup – 6
Uefa Cup Final – 1 (runners up)

Good times eh Bears?....but during that period Celtic also won:

SPL titles – 6 ....(7th will be this year)
Scottish Cup – 5
League Cup – 3
Uefa Cup Final – 1 (runners up)

So there you have it. In the process of running the club into the ground financially and putting it into a state of chaos that will take years to recover, all Rangers as a football club have done is simply keep up with Celtic...ok you have a few more league cups – but that’s it.

Years and years of mismanagement just to retain parity.

Interesting times ahead if this is what it takes just to keep up...
