The field of astronomy was thrown in to turmoil last night, after Earth seemed to have gained a new moon.
At approximately 6.45pm GMT on Sunday 26th Feb, a spherical object seemed to appear almost out of nowhere, and began orbiting the planet.
At a mere 68–70cm (27–28in) diameter, it is too small to be a man-made satellite.
It has already been named "Adam".
More on this story as it comes in
Astronomers are all a-dither now!

Fred, the first few replies are positive ones
At least there's plenty of material for when they remake Star Trek:The Motion Picture...
"Captain, the creature is asking for "The Launcher", it will not respond to anyone else"
"Dammit Jim, I'm a Doctor, not a pundit!"
"My...god...and I thought 'I' had big balls!"
And yes, I can feel another post2thread OP coming on, watch this space (no Star Trek pun intended).

He was going for the conversion - counts as 2 penalties scored.

New thread up, this one's a doozy
Fred, you might want to avoid it, don't want to spoil your "finally broke our trophy drought" mood any more than I have

Good one.. but assuming its the ball Adam used for his penalty you're referring to, I'm pretty sure it hasn't got a diameter of 68-70 cm, that would be the circumference
Shocking penalty though!
