Captain Snoddy's view.

Seen this article today and it appears Snodgrass put himself up for captain but Grayson said no as he didn't want it to affect his form. This coupled with the comments by Warnock of Lonergan being relieved when the captaincy was given to Snoddy shows that Grayson's man management left a lot to be desired.

It seems like the players have a lot more respect for Colin and he's made it clear that he's in charge and the players are listening.

Surely a positive, hopefully with some new additions the defence will be shored up and we can make a late push for the play offs. Here's to hoping.

MOT!

I can see Grayson not wanting it to affect his contribution, but when a player comes to you wanting to take ownership of a situation you should be applauding that.

I agree, and on top of that it appears Lonergan didn't even want to be captain. As if the pressure of coming back into a team after injury in his first season at the club isn't enough.

Grayson was entitled to his view and knows the individuals better than we do. Like him or not you cannot judge his man management on that decision alone.

The one star brigade have arrived.

@dubaiwhite, I'm not judging his man management on the two decisions in the original post alone, but also on the fact that he froze players out of the team, declared one player would never play again, and also the reaction from the players when he departed.

I respect Grayson for what he's achieved at the club, but man management was clearly not his strong point in his time at Leeds.

Mazza, Fair enough. I can't disagree with your bigger picture view. He will have learned shedloads about MM and will probably go on to do OK if he admits his errors to himself.
Warnock on the other hand will not change his ways, lets hope they are effective enough to get us up.

You respect Grayson for wasting money, creating an imbalanced squad, failing to captalise on the talent available to him, and obtaining some of the worst results in the club's history?

It sounds like a pathetic excuse to me. Why would it affect Snoddy's contribution more than anybody else's?

You could understand Howson getting the armband ahead of him, but for Longergan to get it didn't make sense.

And it actually did seem to affect Lonergan's performances!

What Snoddy's saying backs up my belief that Grayson is a Tony Blair like figure.

well said Clive, I hated Tony Blair as well.
