Adam Rooney

Skysports.com understands Birmingham City are interested in signing striker Adam Rooney.

Rooney is out of contract at Inverness, although the SPL side are hoping he will stay on for at least another season.

Blues will be looking to land the 23-year-old forward on a free transfer, although compensation may have to be paid.

Rooney spent two years at Stoke but could not earn an extended run in the side and he was loaned out to Yeovil, Chesterfield and Bury.

He scored 21 goals in 42 appearances for Inverness last season which has alerted Birmingham to his availability.

Not too sure on this one. Thoughts

No disrespect intended to Carson Yeungs Furriest Coat, thanks for the info... but if we are reduced to nicking Inverness strikers and having to pay them compensation then we are truely in deep guano...

I say bring back derbyshire as I still believe he could be a bargain if we play him and his wages are not excessive.

Rooney , Rooney would sound good at least.... dont know much about him...... depends who making the signings Hughton or board.

Can't we sign his brother Wayne, I heard he is pretty good maybe we could get that Messi bloke to play with him!

The only way we could sign Wayne Rooney would be to offer him 100 grans a week, I doubt you will get 100 volunteers

Rooney for Jerome and.....er.....the rest of the squad.......

Taity, that was why Rooney originally signed for Man Utd from Everton - they said that he would be on a similar contract to what he got at Everton initially but in a couple of years he'd be on 100 grand a week - they didn't realise he misheard them!!!!!

As a Scottish football fan I've seen this lad play a few times.

He is OK, probably not Premiership quality though.

He'll score some goals, but I imagine he will be a back-up and certainly not first-team.

He's young, hes over 6ft and a 1 goal per 2 games ratio in the spl isnt too bad, i reckon he could be a threat in the championship. Lets get behind the team and see how things turn out. A better signing than marlon i reckon.
