Right now is Andriy Mariner (spelling?). He's about the only ref who I am confident in giving us a fair, but flowing game. He's not like the referees who like the old fashioned kick them to shreds style of play. But he's not European stop every 2 seconds type either.
I'm sure there's other referees who you guys have respect for too, I've only noticed that this guy has been good on a couple of occasions.
That's the point of this thread, what referees do you guys like and why?
Webber, Dowd Dean and that from the Nou Camp last season don't count and will not feature favourably in this discussion. You may, however, moan about their -ery

Oh yes of course. One of the worst refereeing displays I've ever seen. Nearly as bad as Busacca.

I honestly don't remember him in that game. I just thought he had a good few games in the last few weeks that I noticed. I wasn't even aware of his name until a few months ago.

I would love to have the conversations the refs have made public like in Rugby so you can hear the decision and understand it better.
I think some of the perceived mistakes (An very small "some" mind) could be down to misunderstandings between the audience, the ref and the letter of the law.
