Theo Walcott has no football brain, and doesn’t understand the game. Eventually he could play up front but would he know where to run? He doesn’t know when to run inside a full back, or play a one-two. Lets be honest good defenders would catch him offside every time. I just don’t know whether he studies the game or not, I have been more impressed with Adam Johnson at Manchester City.
Quote from Chris Waddle and practically anyone else who wants to make a judgement (including Arsenal fans).
After reading this and other media comments I don’t think Theo is even capable of being a footballer. Other players of similar ilk are so far ahead it’s scary, I think it's time to ditch Theo and move on.
We all know that Theo can’t even control the football, so Aaron Lennon and Adam Johnson both 2 years older performance wise are light years ahead now. Stuart Downing ‘football brain extraordinaire’ at 27 needs set up a hotline for Theo to call should he need advice on crossing.
Then we have the best wide player in Europe, Gareth Bale taking world football to another level, and destroying all those who dare cross his path.
Now I understand stats don’t always tell everything, but attacking players like RVP and Rooney are judged on goals/creativity, right?

Hang on! What’s this? No, sorry but I refuse to believe it.
Capello and Wenger know nothing about football anyway. That’s why he has won nothing for 7 years, and the other couldn’t even get England to win the world cup.
Fingers in ears ‘la la la la la’
Theo gets so much unfair stick its unreal.
Theo Walcott is terrible at Football

JJG - Articles like this one and others show the fickle nature of Arsenal fans. Someone even used the term 'world class' in the same sentence as him in another thread.
Robin - Johnson for the minutes played has a very good goal scoring ratio. Lennon's contributions have far exceeded Walcott's too for minutes played. They're arguably having their best seasons, but of course your career stats aren't going to show that.

That's quite interesting. Arshavin, in the same number of games for us had 32 goals and 37 assists.
How much stick did he get of our fans? This criticism wasn't exclusive to Theo. A shame really.

How is it fickle to suggest to suggest Theo is not bad as people make out? and I havent seen anyone call him world class!
If you cant read and understand a simple article then we might as well just give up now.

Walcott is average at best
But what this article shows is that the players he is compared to are not much better. Lennon and Downing are both cack. Johnson is just as inconsistent as Walcott, in fact even older, why so many people rate him I don't understand. Probably because he plays on the right but has a left foot. Bale though, well those stats are unfair to him because he only really came to life in 2010 and has been showing steady improvement ever since.

Makes you wonder what people's opinions of Walcott might be if he hadn't had to grow up under such intense scrutiny though.

The pressure on Theo is absolutely ridiculous. I've been saying for well over 3 years he should retire from international football then people would stop banging on about him all the time. If he was Irish or Welsh then he would not have all the focus on him that he has. Hopefully AOC can deal with it better especially if he is called up to the Euros like I think he will.

You say it like it's a fact and yet it appears to just be an opinion. And a wrong one at that.
It also doesn't even make any sense as a response to the fickleness debate. Walcott being rubbish has no bearing on the fickle nature of Arsenal fans.
Honestly could you have failed on more levels if you'd tried?
