Great news that we have him for the season. Hopefully we can get him playing regularly with Michael Tonge
Good signing

Dont see point, were not going to sign him in summer so just a waste of a loan. id play him till we get to the magic 50 then get some of our kids in like digby. they need the games more than smith and tonge. Only problem is might take us untill the brighton game to get to 50 points!

The point is that we need to get as many points as possible this season in order to persuade fans to come next year, and in order to breed confidence. KS will help us in this aim and who knows what might happen later!
Of course, what you or I think is irrelevant, so shall we leave it to KH?

Davedrew is absolutely right. Remember that so many of our so-called supporters are incredibly fickle and, in many cases, not overly-intelligent, so short-term memories are key. If we stick a load of kids in, we'll probably get beaten comprehensively for the remaining games and many fans will look at those results and think "I'm not spending any more money to watch that rubbish" (a comment we've already witnessed on these boards from Lord Fickleness...).
Will the majority of these Wembley-only folk remember trouncing Leeds in December, or battering Derby in January? No...they'll look at the last few results and turn their back on the club.
We have to field a strong side until the end of the season, partly for the supporters but mainly for attracting potential transfer targets. Who would you join; a club that's won its last 10 games and is in good form with bags of potential, or one which is struggling, and lost its last 10 games having staved off relegation mathematically and then given up trying?
Surely even some of the numpties can work that one out...

Majority of the moaners who appear on here haven't been near Oakwell for years.
Smith's loan is good news...Even better news would be the return of Perkins.
