captain for England. A model professional that has been at the top of his game for the past few years. No baggage, just a good hardworking professional. Came good late in his career, but better late than never.
Listening to those clowns Durham and Gough on Talksport though, you would have thought he had commited some serious crime. Durham in particular says that Gerrard should walk out on England because he has not been given the captaincy, and Parker is not fit to be captain. Bitter or what. Durham grow up, and stop bleating all the time.
Well done Scotty, and another proud day for THFC to have the England Captain amongst our ranks.
Great call to make Scott Parker

Wasn't Gareth Barry made England captain for a while whilst at City?

I think its funny how Gerrard came out & said he wanted it (one can only assume his arrogance took over & he genuinely thought he would be handed it via a platinum plated box, or something) only for Parker to keep stum, put his head down & be handed it from under his very nose.
Gerrard is a good club captain but he doesn't demand the same respect outside of his own club environment - like Parker does.
To Parker...
To Gerrard...

I have always liked Parker all the way back to his Charlton days. However, he has been getting into trouble on the playing field recently with his late/agressive tackling. It is very possible that world referees will be watching him closely!

Chicken (the Fonz) ©™
Gerrard is part of the old Guard of England failures like Terry, Lampard, Ferdinand, Cole, etc, over the past five tournaments, and no way should he just assume he was going to be handed the captaincy.
He has hardly pulled up trees over the past couple of seasons to even be guaranteed his place in the side.
For far too long players have been picking themselves for England, whether on form or nor. Never have so many players earnt so many caps for producing so little as the so called Golden Generation of the past 10 years.

scott parker reminds me of a player in the computer football game we used to play in about 1992. you could only move at about 3 angles and no matter how hard you pressed the button it took him ages to get to the ball.
lol. sorry scottie fans.
it was in the same set of games as the car game with the blue car the green car the yellow car and the pink car where you could get boosters on the way round the track. that was the best one actually cos graeme always won the football.

I think last night proves again why Gerrard could never be England captain.
Gerrard = sicknote.
