Cahill or Samba?

I doubt AW will bother but who do you think is commanding and a better all round defender?

Both average IMO.

We need to learn from Man Utd for how to buy average players from lower league teams and still fluke the Prem.

We also need to ensure that our new defender (whoever it will be) gets 4 less red cards than he should have (Vidic).

If we can learn how to do that we have a chance

Gary Cahill

Gives us an English centre half of top ability. Needed. Though I would take Samba too

Please Gooners, let's not fall into the scouse and spud trap of saying that a player being English is actually a good thing!

We easily meet our quota with homegrown players, no need for signing a player because he is English, if anything that is a big put off for me, due to their inept mental strength and lack of technical ability.

Refs do let English players away with lots of things. just saying..

Good points lado and JET!

I never thought of that

We have been let off the hook a couple of times with Wilshere this season.

Rooney's elbow, Barton's tackle on Diaby and Arshavin, Nolan wrestling Szzznznnznzsssney to the floor etc etc.

Perhaps we could do with an English centre half to stop the dodgey decisions.

Or just sign Vidic...

The english players have better work-rate and more tenacity. Probably not always great technically but we need some more players like wilshere, that ability to get stuck-in and run around for 90 minutes, and he has the bonus of fantastic technique.

Just funny to see some deluded fellow gunners hoping to stop referee injustices by stopping English players.
