Egg on Barca Faces!

http://www.sportsvibe.co.uk/news/football/gunners-handed-50m-bid-for-skipper-by-real-madrid/

Firstly i'm not foolish enough to believe that this has some truth behind it, but how good would it be if we sold cesc to real for 20m euros more than the odious barca, BIG rivals to real, who have publicly been tapping him up for the last 3 seasons. I honestly think i would cry with laughter!

Let me make this as plain as i can.

1) Cesc is a barca fan, all his family are barca fans. when last asked about a move to real by the media his response was to laugh and declare that his family would disown him.

2) no matter what size the bid, the player still has to agree personal terms. he has stated very clearly that the only club he would leave arsenal for is barcelona.

ergo, it doesn't matter in the slightest if real, city or bognor regis town fc make a £100 million bid, they won't get him.

Yeah, can hardly blame Cesc for wanting to return home. Has given the club good service and will wish him well.

However one club he will not play for is Madrid. Cesc playing for Madrid is as likely as Neil Lennon managing Rangers.

Exactly, which is why Barca are in no hurry to match our asking price as they know they already have Cesc from one side. Either they get him now or get him on the cheap in a couple of years.

It's obvious it would never happen, but it might give Arsenal some leverage in negotiations with Barca, as they could point to any larger offer by Madrid as closer to Cesc's actual market value.

It might also mean we could say to Cesc "Look, that's what you're worth, but if Barca won't pay it then we won't sell you to them."

Then we will just have a half motivated player on our books for the next few years.

Is that what we really need?

I don't want to blame anyone but Wenger. He hust promised Cesc would return to his home after only one season. It was not season that Cesc wanted to leave.

It's Wenger who never kept his promise. He said a lot. but still we never managed to eat the title. Wenger must go!

So just let Barca get their way and sell him for far less than he's worth? Great business.

Cesc would be fine. He's not the type to sulk.

Arsenal don't have a choice who they sell Fab to - thats the point. The ONLY team he is going to leave for is barca so its pointless saying another team is prepared to pay more when there is only one team in the race.

As someone said before Arsenal have two options - sell now and get as much as possible or just let his contract run down and Barca get him on the cheap. Either way Cesc will end up at Barca - its inevitable.

Looks like this season though considering he has been left off this seasons new promotions
