ROI up to 31 in World Rankings

As per the latest FIFA World Rankings released today, Ireland have moved up 3 places to 31 in the table.

This is of course as a result of our recent 4 wins in a row over NIreland,Scotland,Macedonia and Italy.

Good to see the side is currently moving in the right direction.

I have no doubt that by the end of the current EURO campaign we will be back up near the top 20 where we belong!

I told you three weeks ago we wouldn't make the top 30. This was your response dude.

Trust me we will be in the top 30. Even if a team beats San Marino in a friendly they get some Ranking points.

Yeah, we're 21st in the European rankings, how many groups are there? 8 or 9?

We didn't get many Ranking points for beating Scotland and NIreland as they are outside the top 60 but we got a good few points from the away wins to Macedonia and Italy.

Looks like Scotland and the North will be 4th seeds. I wouldn't mind drawing either of those two for the WC Qualifiers. I'd prefer it to a tricky Eastern European side any day of the week

^^^^^^^^Dude you would have an excuse for shiteing the bed lol....................

Facts numpty boy , not excuses. 400 Ranking points each for beating lowly NIreland and Scotland, 500 for beating Italy and 800 for beating Macedonia away as it was a Euro Qualifier

Given that England are ranked 4 I think it's safe to assume the FIFA rankings are on a par with what Darren's accusing SoupKitchen of doing in the bed.

Very strange England only drew at home to Switzerland and now according to FIFA they are the 4th best team in the world !!!!

The rankings are, by and large, a pretty accurate reflection of team's standings (based on results over a 4 year period). Brazil's ranking will probably be improved by the end of the Copa but at the minute they aren't playing competitive games. Germany are probably the only team who have beaten England in a competitive game since Capello took over (and you lose less points if you're beaten by a close rival in the standings I think).

Who out of the top 10 would you argue with? You might not agree with the order but there aren't really any standout omissions.

1 Spain
2 Netherlands
3 Germany
4 England
5 Brazil
6 Italy
7 Portugal
8 Croatia
9 Mexico
10 Argentina

The current Italian side and Mexico probably don't belong in the top 10 at the moment. France seem to be back on form so i would probaby have them in there also Uruguay
