SHOULD THE BOARD GO?

Lady Bracewell-Smith posed the question that the Board are now too old
and incapable of making the right decisions.

It is incidentally a point that I have raised on many occasions on this website in recent months.

Arsenal have two major shareholders in Kroenke and Uzmanov both of whom are by all accounts amongst the wealthiest people in world football.
Uzmanov according to Forbes is now significantly richer than Abromavich.

Yet the club continues to operate in transfer market like a 'small' business
with the Board and Manager telling everyone that we cannot compete with
likes of Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea.

Our business plan is solid, but our football plan is in my view second rate
and that is reflected not just in our results, but also in the mentality of the
footballers who are on our books.

The question, which needs to be asked is why any top drawer player wants to leave the club? In some cases yes it is about money. Others
like Toure left because of poor relationship[s] in team and others because
of perceived lack of ambition or trophies.

I have sensed that morale at the club has not been good for some time and
that is reflected in number of players who have indicated that they wish to
leave. Fabregas desire to go is not reflected by money and I need to be
convinced that this is the primary reason that Nasri wants also to leave as
well.

When a team implodes as we did towards the end of last season you can
blame it on the players or you can look at the management. In this case I
attribute blame on Board and management, because it is these people who are making the decisions.

no, it continues to operate as a self sufficient business.

we do not have a sugar daddy to make our transfers/pay our wages for us. City for example spent 107% of their total annual income in wages alone.

What Bracewell-Smith failed to highlight is that it was her own decision to sell her shares to KSE in the first place, so she is hardly in a position to complain.

Something has went wrong along the way.

And now arsenal are lost.

Clearly what is needed is a new approach to the game because without bottle your nothing.

RIP Arsenal

How melodramatic.

A previous shareholder of the club speaks out against the people that sacked her, and the end is nigh…
