I think, assuming merieles is fit, something like
------------------------reina------------------------
flanaghan---carragher----skrtlel---johnson
--------------------------------------------------------
---------------spearing----lucas----------------
-------------------------------------------------------
-----kuyt--------------merieles-----------maxi--
-------------------------------------------------------
------------------------suarez----------------------
with a bench of: gualisci (sp), shelvey, carroll, robinson, sterling! (kinda like robinson cameo on final day of last season), kyrgiakos, pacheco
-young bench but no need to put the likes of cole, jova and poulsen on it
team for today

I think that is about right sonic, though Dalglish may be tempted to give Carroll a start if fully fit.

That would be my starting XI and definately not starting with Carroll, we looked like a different team when he played last wwek, and not in a positive way either!
Jonjo Shelvey should have played instead of Carroll simply to keep our succesful formation which brings out the best in every player!
I think Andy Carroll will become an important player next season but only if we have wingers to supply him, otherwise it should be 4-3-3 so Suarez Kuyt and Maxi can carry on their fine form !

I think we might see Aurelio included in the starting lineup today, ahead of Flanagan.

Agree with everyone on the Carroll theme he definitely
needs wingers to provide him with the service he thrives on,long balls over midfield are too easy for defenders to deal with, but big Andy needs to take off 1/2 a stone, put on a yard of pace....
