Can we all give it a rest now with Denilson hate. It's a little tiresome and to be totally honest, it's unjustified. Yes he ran his mouth in the press talking pap about being a winner but I think he was more than enough "in credit" with unjustified slating from ungrateful fans, to allow him that minor indiscretion.
Denilson was/is a very talented player whom is very good at what HE does. The problem for him has been that for the last two seasons, the "Everybody must play for Cesc's game." attitude of Wenger's tactics have meant that he has spent that time being asked to do something different to what he does. Arsene should never have continually played Denilson in the CDM role. It was clear for all to see that he couldn't cut the mustard there. I believe that Arsenal fans owe Denilson a great deal of thanks. Not for his sub-standard performances in a position he cannot play in, but for being willing to pull on that Arsenal shirt and keep turning up to play for us for two seasons whilst repeatedly being ripped apart by fans and the media alike for something that was simply not his fault.
Many, many times last season, I saw articles and comments questioning the "Heart," of Arsenal players. To understand why we owe Denilson and apology and thanks, I'd ask you all to think about this:
In an era where wages and kudos reign supreme and where mercenary players and agents only care about a players status, image and transfer market value...How hard must it have been to be Denilson for the last two years? To pull on that shirt knowing you couldn't really do what was being asked of you. Knowing when you stepped out onto the pitch, you'd probably only be reducing YOUR value as a player. Did he fuss? Did he complain? No he didn't. He shut his trap and tried his best to do what was asked of him. THAT Gooners, is the "Heart," that we speak of and does not deserve the criticism levelled at Denilson.
Denilson was "Sacrificed," to elevate Fabregas to his current heights. His career has suffered as a result of staying committed to Arsenal, Arsene Wenger and us. He ceratinly SHOULD NOT be being jeered out of the club in the manner in which some of you are doing. Show him the respect he deserves for doing his best in what must have been a nightmare at times. I for one, thank him for his service and wish him all the best at wherever he may end up.
All the best Denny

I never ever hated him.

I bear him no ill will. It's very rare for me to bear any ill will to any current/ex arsenal player.
Denny looked like he was going to be a world beater at 18, but has never really kicked on from there, and now it obviously looks like he will be going. I wish him well in the future and hope he goes on to make a good career for himself. personally i think he'd do really well in italy, i think it will suit the pace of his game better than the premier league.

By the looks of it now he didnt have many other options but to stay at arsenal. Hes a strange footballer, not particularly bad or good, just there, always there, walking around, doing nothing, until once every 10 minutes he nudges the ball to a teammate as if he was sorry for touching it in the first place

Denilson has no real position on the pitch and nobody has a clue what he brings other than backwards passing. If he was decent a few clubs at least will want to sign him but he has had no offers yet at all, nobody wants to sign him.

Interceptions, breaking up of opposition defensive play, invariably first to the ball in our 2nd phase attacking play.
It's not that nobody knows Denilson's strengths and what he brings to a team. It's just that it's not been seen for two seasons. As the saying goes, you're only as good as your last game.

Denilson was played out of position. We all know he's not an understudy for Song, although I think he'd play well in the centre of a 4-4-2. Plenty of people to pass to the side too

That's the system we were playing in the season that everyone had him pegged as our brazilian wonder-kid potential world beater with the glory his for the taking. Then came 4-3-3 and 20 goals for Cesc and the rest as they say, is history.

See what I mean Major. Even you've forgotten seeing him in the role you've just recommended.
