Iago Falque

Isnt in the southampton squad again! I'd rather him rot in our reserves than in the reserves of a championship side!!

It would probably be bad news for clubs in lower divisions but it'd help the top clubs.

How about they made a B league or something? If it was given a fair amount of coverage clubs might be encouraged to do it due to extra income.

It would be an idea but because they're not mixing with first teams like reading it would probably get as much coverage as the reserve leagues.

I am 99% certain he has a groin strain and is ruled out for another week after this.

I saw this article a couple of days ago, and wasn't sure what the situation with Falque is. I was at the Spurs training ground today, and made a point of asking about Falque.....

It turns out he is most definitely not injured and is simply not being picked. He played 55 minutes for Southampton and was yanked off for being ineffectual and has only featured in their matchday squad once since.

He is reckoned to be someway from being good enough to be selected and Spurs are extremely unhappy about this. The original arrangement between the clubs, did allow for Falque to spend next season at Southampton should they gain promotion, but understandably, the cub will almost certainly scrap this deal.

Hope this helps

So in training he doesnt look to a standard that is suitable for Southampton?

I think their argument is they have had a winning team all season and so Falque has to take his place in the queue to get a starting place.

Which does of course beg the question, why did they sign him in the first place ?? What is disappointing is they are not playing him, and whilst tehy continue to keep winning, they will prsumably continue to not pick him.

No wonder Spurs are furious about the situation.

Yeah real shame, havent seen a lot of the guy but from the Barca/Juve reserve training videos I saw him in he looked a bright enough prospect. Impressed me more than any training videos of Pogba or Ravel Morrison, and everyone says the are future superstars.
