The most unpopular appointment of all time

Been sat here, wondering if the appointment of AM is just about the most unpopular managerial decision in premier league history?. I seem to recall Gary Megsen being a hugely unpopular choice when Bolton were chasing him. Normally when a manager is appointed their is a honeymoon period or at least a period where a little bit of slack is cut, however with AM there has been no such thing, no feel good factor afforded to him. Since the day he rocked up at VP it has been nothing but negativity, this must in some way filter down to the playing staff, i just don't see how this can now be salvaged, surely Randy must be able to see this?. There is no connection between the fans and the managerial set up, Villa fans traditionally have preferably sought managers who have some affinity to the claret/blue or in the case of MON at least come with a high profile and was every villa fans 1st choice.
What really worries me is next season, we will survive simply because their are three worse teams than us [ just] but how many people will purchase season tickets this summer, and what sort of player are we likely to attract?.
Randy you had a choice and you should have listened.
