I was a John Peel man in my youth
Sloan always seemed a poor copy cat
He has lasted mind you so he must do something right

He is. Duke.
Guy's done well for himself. Loved music, but couldn't play anything or sing so became a Journo to get into it that way, so kudos for that.
Peel will always be regarded as The Man though, and rightly so.

Listened to Peel under the covers in bed to hear punk stuff and in the 90's he would start his Friday night show with hardcore dance/trance/techno.What a DJ.
Loved his dry humour and Liverpool FC chat too.
