I'd play a largely reserve side against Bilbao on thursday now after that brilliant win today.

We don't want to throw all the hard work away by losing another important player for the run in through injury, in a competition we don't really care that much about.

The team that goes furthest in Europe now may live to regret it in the title race.

We weren't impressive today. But to say we aren't a top 2 side is ridiculous. We are considerably better than every team in this league than maybe City, who are a fantastic football side. To say otherwise is just wrong.

Stretford ender I couldn't disagree more. A few weeks ago I would have agreed and hoped for the youngsters to play, but now I've changed my views. For the past few seasons we've been reaching the latter stages of champs league and fa cup, were more than equipped to deal with uefa.

And to say we don't care about the cup is wrong.too, we'd be only the third team in history to win cup winners cup, champs league and uefa. And just taking a guess, but I reckon that would make SAF the first manager in history to win all 3 (with through same club as well) to go along with the European cup he won with Aberdeen as well.

Plus going far in competitions builds momentum, these players want to fight for more than one trophy. we've almost got a fully fit squad with just 11 more PL games, they need this European competition.

I kept calling it uefa, I meant europa.

I want to see us win every competition we enter, period. It's arrogant to dismiss any trophy. You're in it to win it and that's how it should be. I didn't envisage us going for the Europa at the start of the season but now it's there to be won. Why not try to do so?

We have won a major trophy in each of the last six seasons. i want to keep that momentum going and i have a feeling we could be meeting city in the semis and we out in the effort in the round of 16 and qtr final.

Agree about the Europa.
There's the also the chance to compete for the super cup. Now, people may dismiss this trophy, but, it is a way for us o see where we are in comparison to champions league winners.

We've done well against all the big teams in England this season, however, most people seem to ackowledge that the prem sides are in decline. We need to test ourselves against the cream of Europe once again to see what level we are at.

What is unbelievable is how Utd keep winning when they don't play well or are outplayed by the opposition. I don't think they are a top 2 side and if they win the title it will be astounding and will more demonstrate again just how poor the Premiership is.

1) Only someone who is clueless would think Utd isn't a top 2 side. We are defending champions for God's sake

We should be looking to win the Europa League; maintaining a high level of performance in every match in every competition is important for the run-in; it provides continuity and momentum, keeps the squad ticking, builds charachter, confidence, the correct attitudes and mentality, we should all know this by now!!!
