Aston Villa after Shay Given!

According to a report in the Birmingham Mail newspaper , new Aston Villa manager Alex Mc Leish is keen to sign ROI goalkeeper Shay Given.

"Shay Given has been identified by Aston Villa as the man to solve their goalkeeping shortage.
Fuel was added to that particular fire yesterday evening when reports emerged that a betting company had stopped taking bets on Given joining Villa.
The club refused to comment on the issue but I understand McLeish has settled on Given as the man to shore up what at times last season was a leaky rearguard."

Here's hoping. Villa would be a good club for Given to join and he will link up with fellow ROI internationals Richard Dunne and Ciaran Clark.
