v Chelsea

So its looking likely there will be no Carr, Murphy, Davies or Caldwell. (our first choice back four). So who are we likely to see there?

I assume Spector and Ibanez will fill 2 of those spaces. 2 of the youngsters Packwood and Deaman have been called up to the squad.

I'm sure CH will have more than an eye on the league campaign with fixtures against Coventry & Leicester coming up.

What are peoples opinions on the line up against a Chelsea side that seems to be in turmoil and can we beat them??

Is Ramage cup tied? If so we are struggling at the back.

Assuming CH goes with a mix of his normal cup squad and what he has still walking ....

Myhill or Doyle
Kerr Pablo Ndaw Spector
Burke Mutch Gomis Valles
Elliott
Rooney

Not a bad side, and maybe a chance to blood Kerr?

(U13405) there are a couple of pubs in the town centre you can get in but none by the ground. It is a bit of a mission to the ground but the police normal get you on a bus, if not there are a few taxi's which is what we normally do. The fact that it is a 12.30 kick off will mean most pubs won't open till after the game. The weatherspoons in the city centre if your best bet!

Not a bad side for Championship...

But Chelsea would well should destroy that side.

Spector would be ok at RB and Ibanez ok at CB, but with no Ramage and our main four out well its gonna be tough.

I think Hughton will go for a 4,4,1,1 depends on who is cup tried.

I would consider playing 4,1,4,1

From Midfield....

--------------------N'Daw--------------
Redmond----Mutch----Elliot---Townsend
-------------------Rooney

If Townsend is cup tied then play Burke RM and play Redmond LM of play Elliot there and move Fahey into centre.

We need N'Daw to protect back four and break up play and wingers who can support Rooney the aim should be Win set peices.

Banjo,

It's some time since I've played the beautiful game, but as a third rate full back even I know that with a back four that has never played togerther before -as will be the case tonight- it's all a bit academic as to who plays in midfield or up front.

I think we'll get thrashed - hope i'm wrong though.

Well the team was based on maybe chance Hughton would not start King or Zigic.

In which case Rooneys hard work and some decent wingers could get us set peices, it could be a game of hold out and one of those McLeish kinda games.

But i think with Hughton he will go for a attack with 20 min to go.

It does not matter what the result is as long as we give a good acount like at Stamford Bridge where i think we nearly beat them, if Redmond had more composure i am sure we would have Won 2-1.

Cant blame the lad though he is a Winger and in such a big match the pressure can get to you, just look at the missed Penalties in the Carling Cup Final
