Hey folks, I was scanning a few of the earlier articles, and something Spurcat said struck me as a bit odd. He reckon's Saha'll probably start against Stevenage as he's ineligible for the Everton game at the weekend.
Is that right? I was under the impression that Saha was a free signing, after he'd been effectively 'released' at Everton. I'd understand him not being able to play had he joined us on loan, but as far as I'm aware, he didn't.
Is there any other reason he may be ineligible?
For the record, I'd start Saha anyway (with Defoe, see how they work together) on Wednesday - we really should be able to beat a lower league side at home playing 4-4-2, we need to go all out if we want a chance at the FA Cup this year. Then start Ade and vdV vs. Everton, a more disciplined 4-4-1-1 for one of the tougher away matches.
COYS!
Saha ineligible?

Just so i know, will you be watching Everton v Spurs on Saturday (5:30pm)?

I think you might be confusing Saha with Nelsen. He was released by Blackburn to join us, and I'm pretty sure Saha is on loan with an option to buy, as others have mentioned.

Actually I probably won't be, so you should be okay...

Saha was a free signing. Piennar went on loan the other way. Simple as that.

For ther record:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/16820538
Louis Saha has joined Tottenham on a free transfer after ending his three-and-a-half-year spell at Everton.
Moving in the opposite direction is Steven Pienaar, who has rejoined Everton on loan from Spurs until the end of the season.
Pienaar only left Goodison Park a year ago but has struggled to cement a place in Harry Redknapp's plans.
"I like Louis. He is bright, sharp, got good movement and I think he'll do well for us," said Redknapp about Saha.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright and his Spurs counterpart Daniel Levy worked right up until the transfer deadline to conclude the Pienaar deal.
It completed a hectic day of comings and goings at Everton, with Spurs boss Redknapp taking a gamble on Saha by offering an 18-month deal.
Redknapp has been seeking to strengthen his attacking options - but going for 33-year-old French striker Saha is still a major surprise, even though no fee is involved.

We don't know the small print in the deal with Everton , it's possible that we may have agreed not to play him against them this season , I seem to remember something similar written in to the Berba deal with United

I know clubs used to do that, but i think they banned that type of thing from contracts.
