6 captains my arise.........This is a South Sydney whinge.
Monday night football for round 1 was between South Sydney and arch rivals Roosters.
South's looked good at 20 - 12 from around the 60min mark and were all over the Roosters who didn't even look like breaking the Bunnies up in your face defence.
Instead of putting the sword into the Roosters, South's seemed content to just protect the 8 point lead and when the clock hit the 77th minute I was as happy as a pig in shiet knowing round 1 and the 2 points were in our pocket.
But it didn't pan out the way the script was written with the Roosters scoring twice in 3 minutes to take the game 24 - 20.
Being a long time supporter of South's I've learnt how to accept defeat without to much of a problem but this game killed me......Maguire in his wisdom has appointed the senior group as captains all 6 of them.......then why on hell didn't they get together and put the Roosters away when they had the chance to, instead of running the ball out and landing a safe kick into the Roosters quarter every time with no pressure on the wingers or fullback......it was play safe for the last 20min instead of beating them by 14 points or more they got caught with their pants down and lost 2 valuable competition points in doing so and I hope Maguire is as pee-ed off as what I am about this stay safe rubbish.....G'rrrr bloody hell..
All in all South's played well, it was just some dumb negative decisions that were made that makes my skin crawl....SHISH!!
Sitting pretty but got panced in the end...

Sorry, I know a lot of you couldn't give a damn about the NRL but this olé bunny had to get it off his chest...
To those that may follow Sam Burgess progress......he went extremely well with some real solid put them on their back-side tackles and great hit-ups and off loads.
With the chance of Minichello arriving into the S/League competition next year, every club would be chasing him on last nights performance with some great fullback attacking skills shown on top of 2 try saving tackles.......

Souths,it reminds me of a few matches when Madge first came to Wigan.
Leading 20-0 at Bradford then went on to lose 20-22,this was the main one were they seemed to take their foot off the gas.
To give Madge his due Wigan went on to top the league and also win the Grand Final.
But this was S/L not the NRL.

I'm not blaming Madge one bit.......it's the captain and the senior players that I hold responsible.
There was also the issue of Reynolds our new No7 on debut who was in the race side by side with Mini for 30metres for the ball rolling into the in-goal, he should of dropped the shoulder and got binned because it was to far out to be a penalty try.....but you can't place an old head on young shoulders...I'm sure Tommy Bishop or Andy Gregory would of stopped him in his tracks...

After seeing Rabbitohs play today they might make the 8, but forget about reaching the grand final.
