Poor AVB

At least hes sitting nicely on 11million compensation.

Us fans must feel deeply sorry for him.

He wouldn't have been sacked if your players stopped being s and actually tried hard once in a while.

Gullits Ghost, he seems like the sort of person that would have rather succeeded with 'the project' than his bank balance.

Shame some of your players ego's got in the way of that.

I no the players have really let the club down. But AVB died by his own sword by keeping them at the club.

If a new manager comes in and gives these players another chance, there would be a huge uproar on this Chelsea board and most will be complaining like how I was when AVB first announced that he was giving them a second chance.

And not all is what it seems. I can bet my bottom dollar that AVB won't be crying once that compensation comes through.

The problem nowadays is managers aren't really given the transitional period, it was supposed to be a 3 year plan wasn't it?

I guess the main worry was not qualifying for the CL

This is a man who dreamed of becoming a football manager (not player, manager) since his pre-teens. Someone who apprantatly spent 12 hours a day at the training ground when most of the players couldn't bother with the routine four.

If there's one manager in the world you shouldn't throw that argument at it's AVB. The greatest manager in our history Jose Mourinho prolonged an awkward early season just to squezze out a lil compensation money - if his relationship with Roman had broken down so badly, why didn't he just walk away the previous summer?

Very harsh argument against Andre that.

What did u expect him to do? come in a sell around 5-8 1st Team players?

Dont be daft his job would have been to slowly weed them out. And he started that with Anelka & Alex.

Im pretty sure if he was still at Chelsea in the the summer Lampard, Drogba & maybe another 2 would have been gone.

ERM YES!!!

Sell 4 players at least. Not that hard.

He already sold 2, but at the wrong time of the season and not in good fashion.

He should have done half of his transition last summer and continued it this summer. We cant sell 8 players at once. We currently have that many players who need to leave the club.

AVB didnt have to overhaul the squad completely but he could have made some changes which he decided against.

AVB did not want, and didn't get extra compensation.
