I would call that an ugly win - delighted to get the three points but the team had to scrap a bit for it, glad to see they were able to in the end!
Really pleased with another clean sheet - four in a row - but if we give Celtic the same number of chances we gave ICT I think they'll really punish us. Is the number of clean sheets directl related to Kenneth not playing...?
Thought Flood played well last night and was surprised that Rankin got motm ahead of him, although he took his goal well and put in his usual hard working shift.
Looking forward to the weekend now!
Last night

Agree entirely that we were not fantastic last night but the fact is we went out and pumped them 3-0 without needing to really get out of second gear.
To start on the negatives, I thought we passed the ball poorly throughout and I think we were guilty of switching off when we were 2-0 up, giving them an opportunity to get back into the game. I was saying at that stage that what we needed was an experienced head to get their foot on the ball and make a few passes to take the sting out of the momentum ICT were building up, and it's maybe that we do have a little naivety in the team that stopped us doing that.
However, onto the positives, I thought last night proved two things. Firstly, we have goals in us, and they can come from a variety of means. The first showed that we have players who can score from distance. Last night Rankin again found the net and in recent weeks we've seen players more willing to have a go from distance. The second goal once again showed our threat from set pieces, and it was good to see Robertson on the scoresheet again.
Then there was the third. I believe one of the guys on the radio described it as "messi-esque". Absolute class and surely a goal of the season contender. Big JD skinned two out wide, fired it in to Russell who wriggled by three tackles before cooly slotting home. A moment of magic and something we do have in our locker. We do have players who can do something special in our team which is a big thing to have.
The second major positive that I'd take away from last night is the continued emergence of Gavin Gunning. I thought he was outstanding last night and was my man of the match. He's been in fine form (I see he won the February ArabTrust player of the month) and has been a real rock at the back for us. I think it's his form, along with the improvement of Neilson and the return to fitness of Dillon, that has seen us not concede in over 380 minutes of football. I think it was absolutely fitting that GG took the armband when Daly went off.
Although not the best performance, I do think it was very clinical and will have given our coming opponents something to think about. We can and will play better in the weeks ahead and if we can continue to be as lethal in front of goal then I'm confident that right results will happen.
