Meireles

I think we should make a cheeky bid for him in the summer. Was one of the better players at the tail end of last season, and only left because he wanted to work under AVB again (can't really hold a grudge for that - he's not exactly Torres). His movement and attacking play would be welcome right now.

Just me then
Do we need a hard worker though? Seems we have enough defensively. We need someone creative.

I'd rather get a rejuvenated Joe Cole back for nothing and see how he got on

Glad we got rid!

Ffs why would we want him? He was awful for 32 games last year. Hr had 5 or 6 good games once Kenny took over, but was poor for the rest. He's been poor for Chelsea too. Why would anyone want him? Just because you remember his 3 game goal scoring streak last year?

God knows why you are wittering on about Britain and the empire. The fact is that the player being discussed often pulls out of challenges. I have seen is many times in recent weeks and that is just not on. As a minimum requirement any footballer that is getting paid tens of thousands of pounds per week should be willing to put his foot into a tackle. Im not talking a bone-crunching 50/50 here either. Im talking about the fact that he often turns his back and lets players just waltz past him making no effort to stop them. A approach that cost his team dearly against Napoli. I dont care how talented a skillful a team you have - if they all play like that then you will not win a single game.

Can you not read? I said I wasn't taking about 50/50 tackles. I'm talking about basic standing tackles and I have seen the lad pull out if them or simply turn his back cos he can't be bothered to make them. That
