There is hope....

Quite frankly the biggest impact no top 4 would have on Chelsea is on the fans. It would be hugely embarrassing for us to miss out and be mocked by rival fans especially Arsenal and Spurs.

But thats as far as it can go if we get our act right.

It will also damage our finances but not greatly should we qualify next season, because two years out of the Champions League is unthinkable for a European giant like Chelsea FC.

We may have a problem attracting the best players but really, how many recognisable top players are even out there??????? Not many to be honest. Football has changed from how it was 10 years ago when top players were spread across many clubs, so many that alot were underrated.

These days too many players are overrated and buying the creme of the crop has not really worked for Chelsea anyway. What we need are efficient, hard working players with some sparkling additions.

Thats where our scouting team need to stand up and be counted and sign some real footballers, not to young, not to old, but young enough to develop further over the next 1 or 2 seasons.

Its never too late for change thats why I dont regret none of our past achievemennts and see none of them as a smoke screen for the problems that lay ahead.
