Paul Pogba

Anyone know if these rumours are true and he still is refusing to sign a new contract and has now agreed to sign for Juventus in the summer?

I think he was after £45k a week? Does seem a lot for someone who's so young and not really proved themself. That's still almost £2.5mill a year without bonuses etc.

I can understand the desire to want to play in the first team but you also need to work hard to prove yourself to do that!

It's a sad indictment of the modern day footballer!

Lambsy. I'm not worried, I just don't think Sir Alex handled the whole Pogba siutation very well. He might not be as good as everything noce thought, but that isn't the point. Barca tie all their kids down for 4/5 years, we let most of ours get to the 18 month period which allows a player to have some control.

Doesn't make business sense as much as it doesn't make footballing sense to me.

______

Arghh it makes perfect business sense!! You dont run a bankrupted company do you?

How is it good business sense to give a kid with no experience whatever his agent demands, and more than some of the experienced loyal players ahead of him? How is it good business sense to risk a queue of 20 players outside your door also demanding excessive pay rises or they'll refuse to sign a new contract? Do you seriously think caving in to Pogba, only means you pay Pogba more, and that has no impact on any other player, or his demands, or a new signings salary demands? You think when the likes of Sneijder see United are willing to break their structure to pay a inexperienced kid 45k a week, that they will lower their salary demands to fit the structure of the club? You think no other agent will learn from Raiolo? What about Fryers agent? Shall we give Fryers 45k a week as well because it's hard to say to him, well we think Pogba's better than you even though you've played more, so you only deserve 5k a week.

Do you think it's sensible to have a dangerous salary to ratio income? Why do you think the club has a pay structure and control this ratio?

Please please please stop looking at Pogba in isolation and start broadening your view a little to take account of the impact on the whole club medium term and long term.

Busby, he's backed the boy and said he's coming along well and is ready for some first team action, and he's had some first team action; just because he's not had as much as some would have liked it doesn't mean he's let him down. Do you expect Sir Alex to tell the press "he's a bit touch 'n' go and we're not sure we're gonna get a decent return on our investment"?!

No, I'd expect him to say he will play when he is ready.

Pogba looked a little nervous on his debut and definitely played a more withdrawn role in the side. But as he got more game time his confidence grew and so did the quality of his passing. I would have liked to have seen him get more game time this season, but we could only bring him on when the team was playing well and comfortably winning, which unfortunately hasn't happened too often.

He's been making the bench a lot recently and had we been in a winning position more often he'd have seen more game time. Unfortunately now we're in the business end of the season and he'll play even less.

As for the contract dispute, it stinks of agent interference, but Pogba and SAF probably need to have a talk about what is best for both him and the club. He's a talented boy, yes, but not worth breaking our wage structure for because of the domino effect it would have to the rest of our young players.

That's part of the problem, you seeing it from a fans point of view. It's not as easy being a professional footballer, at 18, when you have your agent and probably family saying do one thing, people at the club another.

It's easy to say as a Man Utd fan, be loyal to the club, just have some patients, one day you'll make it.

---------------------
I'm not saying that. I'm saying circumstances have dictated that Pogba has to wait when ideally, SAF would have wanted to play him more.

Tom Thorpe is a year older and is in tonight's squad. I've never heard Tom demanding this that and the other.

If Pogba wants to go to Juve then fine. So be it.

Like I said though, Sir Alex can extend the boys contract by 12 months if he wishes. Is he doesn't, we all know why. Sir Alex knows youngsters better than anyone and he won't be dictated too by a rookie's agent.

Sir Alex is handling this fine. He;s basically teaching the boy some manners which he can either learn from, or do one

Fair points, obviously he has probably had conversations with him regarding his future behind the scenes so we can't really paint a clear picture. For al we know it's just journo talk, although Fergys reaction to the question on Pogba would suggest otherwise. Time will tell I guess.

Agreed

Sounds to me like they are awaiting a decision from Pogba's camp

Training with the reserves sounds to me like SAF is close binning him for having the wrong attitude for United

For fùck sake! I'm tired of this Pogba talk...

If he wants to go let him go; g'bye! See ya! Don't let the door hit ya on the way out!
If he really is as good as some of you claim he is then why only Juve interested? Why aren't Europe's top, elite clubs banging on his door, offering him first team football and a wage to die for?! Anybody know why?

There appears to be no loyalty from this kid, imagine if he makes it!
We pay him what he wants, he's a first teamer for 2, maybe 3 years, the lynchpin in our midfield, the guy who makes us tick, then along come Madrid or Barca...

How long would he hang around? Not very.

He is not loyal, mature enough or good enough to play for United.
He should take a look a Hernandez and his ethos, and understand that loyalty, commitment, hard work and patience will get you what you want in the end.
But if he just wants to make a quick buck then I won't lose any sleep about him leaving.

SAF is saying he knows nothing about it, which means he does but ain`t talking...so you have two options: confuse yourself by following all the rumours, or just sit tight and wait...the truth will come out soon!
