A lesser version of the Chelsea team under Mourhino in the mid 2000's,a Chelsealite in effect.
Both teams are set up with attacking fullbacks,3 man central midfield (Makelele,Essien and Lampard vs Lucas,Adam and Gerrard) and wingers who also like to come into the centre of midfield (Duff and Robben vs Downing,Kuyt or Suarez) with a big unit playing upfront (Drogba vs Carroll).
Could Steve Clarke have a bigger influence on the Liverpool FC playing squad than he should. If Carroll had the same presence, movement and ability to put the ball in the back of the net as Drogba would Liverpool be higher in the league.
As regard of the managers.Mourinho as a manager would make 3 substitutions before half time if things weren't going well,Dalglish seems to only make tactical substitutions in the last 10-15 mins of games.Mourhino was ruthless in his team selections,Dalglish seems to stick with the same under performing players due to the fact they were bought for high fees by him.
So the Liverpool of today under Dalglish/Clarke is a pale imitation of the Chelsea of the mid 2000's under Mourhino/Clarke with a weaker manager in charge.
The other comparison that can be made that Chelsea's first piece of silverware under Mourhino was the league cup which Mourhino recognised as a very important piece of silverware,as it showed he had a team of winners on the pitch
Is the Liverpool team of 2011/12 just...

If the chelsea board have any sense at all the will try and get Clarke back to work with any new manager we appoint.
He is enjoying himself at the moment but he has Chelsea in his blood think he would come if the offer/position was right

Implicit in the suggestion is that Chelsea and LFC are comparable at the relevant times, and that isn't so. Sadly, Carroll, to date, hasn't delivered. JimmyTheRed

Why is it any of your concern???
Is the current Everton FC incarnation a lesser side than the 80's version???
Is Messi better than Rooney?
Are Coco Pops better than Ricicles?
Are Brannigan's better than McCoys?

Tbf op has a point..
But we only have one winger whereas Chelsea had two.. I'm sure we'd have been much higher if more players performed and if our Makelele didn't get injured.

Downing,Henderson,Carroll,Adam,Enrique and Suarez are starters in most of your games,do they deserve to be?

Yes - teams don't improve and gel if you keep chopping and changing them! ANd why the hell is Enrique in that list?!
