get their act together in the past hour we have made improved bids for Goodwillie and Wallace as well as confirming Healy will stay on which is worrying, also Cuellar deal is an advanced stages it's on Sky Sports now.

I've always said give Healy a one year deal. With a full pre-season behind him he will be a good backup striker.
I doubt we'll get Cueller but I'm glad we are trying. Really hope we don't get Goodwillie

apparently the bid for goodwillie has already been rejected was in excess of £1m

well in that case i would rather we look elsewhere as £2 is too much of a punt with regards to what is going on with courts etc

^^ exactly what i said when i heard this, and i doubt hearts will accept our offer for wallace these transfer sagas will run for most of the window unless an english club swoops in with rediculous offer!

You're right, I dunno if Rangers even have two pounds.

Don't think Goodies charges are going anywhere, serious assault might be difficult for the courts to prove as up until 2 weeks ago he was the victim with cctv to back that up...all 2nd hand info though. As for the bids for Goodie, I don't know what your boy Coisty was thinking, he has already seen a bid (rumoured to be £1.8M) knocked back so unless it was the £2M United were looking for he KNEW it was going to get knocked back. Probably just trying his best to avoid a "tapping up" charge. Not the brightest or slickest bit of business you will ever see.

Grumblepants.
It's quite normal for someone to go for less than the EXACT quoted amount.
It's called haggling, you start low and work up hoping the other party will say, okay.
If they stick to their guns then fair enough but it's pretty normal for 4 or 5 offers to be made before an agreement is made.
The press and opposition fans (and Romanov) blow these things out of proportion by saying things like 'insulting bid' etc when the truth is the buying club probably wasn't expecting their first offer to be accepted they were just testing the water.
Rangers may well end up offering £2m for Goodwillie and £1m for Wallace, but they sure as hell aren't going to come straight in with those offers or the selling clubs may assume they've cash to blow and ask for more.

db - the point I was making was that Coisty and Whyte seem to have a total lack of awareness, or they deliberately tabled a bid they knew would get refused to appease the fans crying out for a signing. United have stated £2M and have rejected bids that have been close to this already so why did McCoist think Rangers would have been any different? Are you special, that teams should accept lower bids just because you are THE Rangers? Perhaps instead of haggling Rangers should view it as an eBay auction with a reserve price of £2 million. Next time try offering more than the last bid that was refused, they will probably find it is the way things usually work.

If you don't ask you don't get. I don't blame Ally for testing the water.
People on ebay also can bid below the reserve. Quite often if the reserve is not met it gets lowered.
I don't expect Rangers to get special treatment but if Utd said ok at £1.8 or £1.9m then it would have been worth it.
We haven't hurt anybody with trying a lower bid for goodness sake.
As I said if Utd are adamant they want £2m then we'll probably end up paying that but like everyone in every walk of life Rangers are quite entitled to try for a lower price and Dundee Utd are entitled to refuse it.
To be honest apart from having a pointless go at Rangers fans I don't see your point.

No, you got it. That's what I was doing.
I didnt know that about the reserve price on eBay, I didn't bid on some items because I thought they just relisted....darn it!
This has been informative,I am now off to eBay to grab a bargain or two.
