this week has seen a tragic disaster in afghanistan of our armed forces,6 men died looking out for OUR COUNTRY,what will our overpaid footballers contribute to the poor families who have lost their breadwinners, will they put their hands in their own pockets to help those who give their lives to keep our country safe?one weeks wages from every player in the premiership and most in the championship would go a very long way for those real HEROES not those who play 90 mins a week [sometimes twice and think they are being overworked!!] [would love to be in their position]

malling your comment says "one sympathises with the bereaved [almost] why should i apologise? what do you mean [almost]?

forever, read it again, and read what it actually says, not what you want to read into it.
One sympathises with the bereaved, (almost) regardless of the cause of death
ie: One sympathises with the bereaved, almost regardless of the cause of death

ok vulpes but why is the word almost in brackets?

Golly this is hard work.
One usually sympathises with the bereaved. But not always. And not - in the example I gave you - in the case of the Norwegian mass murderer of teenagers, presently on trial, whose execution once convicted I would wish to see ordered. But I imagine that the Scandinavians ditched the death penalty years ago.
Thus, "One sympathises with the bereaved, (almost) regardless of the cause of death". The brackets signify a small qualification of the main statement.
All that remains is for you to apologise nicely for calling me an idiot, resolve inwardly to read posts more carefully in future, and we shall be chums again.

but what has my comments got to do with anything about norway malling ?i was talking about our soldiers in afghanistan f-fs if you really want an apology then --SORRY!!! but why the brackets ?either you are sympathetic or not,i was only trying to say what a nice gesture it would be for the overpaid footballers of this country to show their support to these lads who give up there lives to maintain our security of this country, pheraps i worded it wrongly in the first place if so i DO apologise to everyone who i have obviously upset on here

Sort of apology, sort of accepted. We move on.

Political threads of this nature are (almost) always misplaced in a football related forum.

What an obscure article. Also just because you don't agree with talibans ideology doesn't mean it's right or wrong. No one is right. British soldiers die, afghan soldiers die. Both can be grieved for fighting for their beliefs and values. 6 die, but what about those that they killed? Their no more right or less wrong than
