I know he's not world class. I know he's not called Charliandro Adamaldinho-Batistuta. But would he really be as bad a signing as made out?
I AM NOT SUGESTING WE BUY HIM.
I don't think he'd be a bad signing at all tbh, he's certainly good enough to help tighten our grip on the PL, can play in a three or a four. Can play in a holding / deep lying midfield role, covering the back four. He can also play further up the pitch and create behind the striker(s). He's left footed, and we seriously need to be aware of becoming lop-sided team (only Anderson, Giggs and Evra are left footed in our entire squad!) and finally he'd be happy to sit on the bench and generally be a squad player.
Be honest, it's because you hadn't heard of him before last season, and he was playing for Blackpool, isn't it?
If we'd been playing Spurs on the last day of the season, and Van der Vaart had scored that free-kick, and we had the oppertunity to snap him up for £8m-£10m, everyone (myself included) would want him. Yet none of us do?!
Actually wouldn't mind a proper discussion about this, so no WUMs please.
Charlie Adam.

It's easy to write him off but what's the deal with so many English men bashing one of their own
=======================
Sorry am I suppose to give a flying one that he was born in the same country as me. Dont see how that is in anyway relevant at all.

I liked what I saw v Spain very much of Henderson.
Not so much against the Czechs.
But at the end of the day deep lying defensive mid, covering for centrebacks isn't his position, right mid is.
He played DM for 240 minutes and we conceded one goal with him on the pitch. You can hardly blame him for the results after 3 matches of hoof it from the back, horrendous English football.
HOOF!

Which is funnily enough all JH did. Accept his balls by and large ended up in the crowd.

He can do whatever he wants for England as far as I'm concerned. As long as he puts in good shifts for us, I'll be happy

The hoofing was all Jones and Smalling.
For your sake I hope it was Pearce's idea and not theirs.
Henderson barely played any long balls unless they all happened against the Ukraine. I didn't watch that match.
The other two matches were hooftastic from our centrehalves. I genuinely wondered if those two were genetically related to Carragher.

The only times Smalling and Jones hoofed it was because the midfield - Mancienne and Henderson would ahrdly come short and collect it and everytime they did they jsut passed it straight back - they were scared to get caught in possesion. Now im not saying Smalling and Jones were perfect - both made mistakes and they obviously still have a lot to learn but the main problem with england throughout that tournament was the midfield and the failure to create any chances of note and control the centre of the pitch

I guess we all see what we want to see.
