I know I'm gonna get a lot of stick for this and I love Ferguson but seriously!!!
We are one of the richest clubs in the world, we are capable of buying the best players, coaches, training facilities in the world but yet again we get completely and utterly taken the pi ss out of by a team who only allow themselves to use players from a region of 2.6m people.
Full credit to Bilbao, they were fantastic, they clearly realise we live in the 21st century where possession, pressure and technique are fundamental elements of any team who has the desire to succeed, and who clearly respect and take into consideration how their opponents will play.
Again Ferguson completely underestimated a team who anyone would know are a quality side, who contain genuine world class players. Yet he played a 20 year old defender and a 38 year old winger in a 2 man central midfield against a team who are technically fantastic and who will try to control the midfield, how many more times is he going to do this and then apologies afterwards, it seems to happen so often this season that I actually cant be bothered to listen to his excuses, they mean absolutely nothing anymore.
Did Ferguson, Phelan and Meulensteen really think that line up was going to produce anything what so ever tonight. No pace on the wings and a completely untested pair in the middle, I mean seriously, I honestly don't understand what must go through their heads. Ferguson said he knows where he went wrong in Rome in 09, he clearly didn't as we were again humiliated last season and tonight even more so. There are clear problems that need addressing and all we get are excuses. Surely scouts were sent to see Bilbao and any id iot would know they are great in possession and it would be foolish to play 442 and to play players out of position.
I know fans will disagree but I'm sorry, I am genuinely angry right now. We are in decline and have been for a few years, we have players who are either too old, lost their hunger or are clearly not good enough. On top of that our team selection is baffling and our methods dated. Bilbao are a very good team but we are Manchester United and tonight we were humiliated at home when there really should be no excuses.
What do our coaches and Ferguson do?

To be honest considering the level of intelligence you have displayed all night I am completely unsurprised you do not understand the meaning of the word educate...
You could just be a wum I guess, surely even the biggest Celtic fan, I mean surely even the biggest idiot can't get that many simple things wrong without doing it on purpose?!
Like I said in another topic, I am not hugely bothered by the EL, number 20 is the priority this year and it is in a league that actually has some good teams rather than your pub league up North....

People just seem to call it a humiliation whenever we are knocked out. We got to 2 finals against Barca and lost by 2 goals in both and they were apparently humiliations as well.
Young players have gained valuable experience and we have stayed in the title race only being 2 points behind the worlds most expensive side... all whilst suffering a crazy amount of injuries this year not least one of our star players missing most of the season (Vidic)
That along with the fact we rested players for the CL to stay in the title race tells me there is no need to panic, considering the football knowledge you have shown it does not surprise me that this all goes straight over your head.

English teams have no given right to win against every single team they play in Europe, seriously looking down your nose at every other league in the world and completely disregarding it, is absolute nonsense.
Eight English clubs entered either the Champions League or the Europa League, only Chelsea remain in the competition they entered originally and they could seriously go out next week against Napoli.

When both Rangers and Celtic lost their European qualifiers I bet the all the talk was about how the teams that beat Celtic and Rangers were great teams from big leagues....
