So what if we lost

Players who would have started for United if all were fit and Fergie was really taking this comp seriously:-

- Vidic
- Ferdinand
- Carrick
- Cleverley
- Scholes
- Nani
- Valencia
- Welbeck

8 players, all guaranteed first teamers, none started, two of whom came on as subs. Take nothing away from Bilbao, you can only beat whats put in front of you but if they had put on that performance against Uniteds REAL first team, then I would've worried.

You'll have to forgive me for being objective here but I'm a United supporter and while all the neutrals and ABUs will enjoy this Bilbao's fantastic performance, as well they should as it was awesome, a Utd fan will look at this game different. Not only was it the second string, it's also the Europa League ffs. Bilbao deserve to go through simply for caring more about winning it and also playing like they cared more. We don't deserve anything from this competition and the sooner we're out of it the better.

It's a squad game, so that's a very poor excuse.

- Vidic, out for the season, silly to say if only we had him
- Ferdinand, again he won't be around forever.
- Carrick, our ONLY defensive midfielder. Why?
- Cleverley, seems very injury prone.
- Scholes, we cannot rely on him forever.
- Nani, has been god awful anyway.
- Valencia, we have cover for
- Welbeck, Hernandez started, who is just as good.

We still had the likes of Rooney, Hernandez, Young, Giggs who are all good enough to make things happen. The experience of Evra, Park. Evans and Smalling who has been in great form, De Gea who kept us in the tie.

Don't forget Carrick and and Nani both came on.

The truth is, we are not as good as the English media like us to believe. English sides in Europe this season have proven that, and the theory that La Liga is not as good as the EPL has been well and truly blown out of the water over the last couple of seasons.

Fergie does seem to be making a lot of mistakes lately
