Liverpool are officially back

Not the football team, they're still cack but the delusion of the fans. After 18 months of actually realising what we all knew and the fact they were a rubbish team with a rubbish squad it seems delusion has descended upon them again since the arrival of King Kenny , The White Heskey and the Buck-toothed World Cup cheat as well as a joke £20m signing of an overated English player. There were a few gems I came across but this had to be up there with the best of them.

"how are liverpool not a top club, 6th ranked in europe?
playing good free flowing football, good ownership, things look on the up for the dreadful past year and half."

Personally the free-flowing football bit has to be my favourite, I am sure Braga fans will concur with that...........

Unfortunately there are well documented events associated with Liverpool's history that do to an extent maybe 'taint' the footballing history in some eyes.

I was referring to the footballing side of Liverpool and the fact that on a worldwide basis we are seen still as one of the 'Giants' of the modern game. Whether Chelsea fans or whoever fail to recognise that then on their own heads be it. I think fully grown men with an understanding of their clubs and football in general should be able to exchange football 'banter' without having to continually refer to tragic events linked to the club. It is indeed a fact that these events happened but in my book they have absolutely no relevance to what's happening on the footballing side of things.

I can have a bit of abuse or 'comeback' as good as the next man and like you have supported my club for a long time through thick and thin (more thin the last 20 odd years).

I responded on an article that when you look at it isn't going to win any literary prizes but displayed such an unfounded nonsensical barrage of abuse towards Liverpool that I felt compelled to reply

=====================================

You're really not as big as you think anymore.
These things are hard to measure but the few indicators there are like overseas sales and 'surveys' suggest you've fallen from the top echelons.
Look even at the steps your own owners are making to attract young fans.Vastly reduced prices to attract kids.

Good to see that you can maintain a relatively normal level of decorum on this board. Pity it's not the same on the other boards eh?

I keep misreading the title of this post as "Liverpool are officially BLACK"

I posted this on another thread but I think this a more deserving one.

"Just found this apt description of red scouse fans:

◦A club overly-romantic about past glory.

◦Fanatical supporters who believe they’re entitled to success.

◦A succession of beleaguered managers that have failed to win the title.

◦Fandom overriding rational logic.

◦Disgruntled players who see their future elsewhere.

◦A belief that a messiah in the form of an ex-player/manager will come and save the day"
