Precisely, he doesn't need to with Di Matteo, it's implied in the length of his contract. He should've got one of his advisors to publicly back AVB weeks ago, even if he didn't mean it.

He either needs to start doing that when it's necessary, or adapt a regrime around giving manager's rolling contracts from now on.

Should've backed AVB privately months ago. Like he confronted the players after AVB's sacking.

I would have taken one season out of UCL if it meant our club sending a statement to the squad by backing the manager and not the big headed to wrapped up in there own importance players.

IMO the players were and still are the problem, AVB made mistakes but the same as any manager

We traded our integrity as a club for a possible 4th postion in the leauge.

If the board really thought AVB wasn't the man they should have sacked him in Jan and given who ever a realistic chance with half a season but they didn't do it .
Why? Because they know the players are rubbish

The headline is the players held the club to ransom yet again!!!
