I Finally decided to register, but i have been reading since the site started, anyways most Arsenal fans are so agitated regarding our current transfer situation. However the truth of the matter is the best strategy is the one we are using right now. Why?
A. It makes sense to first know who is staying on and who would be leaving us, we should first sort our contracts out so that we know where we stand with certain players.
B. Also realistically we cannot compete with Man U, City, and Chelsea in the climax of the transfer window, so it is better for us to let them go at it for players we can't afford their wages anyway, by the time they got the players they want I think the market would have come down a bit then we can complete the deals we want, in other words lets remain patient.
C. I still don't think the idea of lets just spend big money for spending sake makes sense, certain players are still massively overpriced, there's only a handful of players that I believe are worth £20m let alone £30m,£40m and so on that clubs are demanding for players this days.
What do you guys think?

Spot on...
It's all panic stations and not one player has left, YET!
The market is insane right now, in England more than anywhere. It's a myth Arsenal don't have money, they do, they've just been incredibly reluctant to spend it.
What they can and will do is offer any would-be signings very competetive wages, great training facilities, wonderful environment personally & professionally etc...
Spending money for the sake of it just won't happen, it's not in Arsenal's interests. But if and when Cesc leaves, Nasri (a possibility) the board need to act, because promoting from within or taking a punt on an "emerging talent" is a colossal gamble and one I don't think Arsenal are in a position (short or longterm) to take.
The days where a coach (like Wenger) could pluck a gem from obscurity and turn them into a megastar are rapidly withering away, if they have not already!
Which means sooner or later (realistically sooner, this very season) the board will have to put there money where there mouths are and to good use.
Traditionally this is something Arsenal fans have not seen a great deal of and there's understandable anxiety that the people up top will show further reluctance to do so.
This is the biggest pre-season at Arsenal in many a year, make no bones about that!
