Yesterday I refused to write an article as I was too upset and thought I needed to calm down. here is my view on the current issues at Spurs.
Its a long article so if you have a short attention span i wouldnt bother starting to read it.
1. I have that sinking feeling that we all know as Spurs fans. We look as though we are determined to mess up everything we worked so hard to get. Our form since the turn of the year is very very poor, and the start of the poor run was the Wolves at home game. If you cast your minds back to last season, we went to Blackpool away, win to go third, and we messed it up.. all downhill from there...
This season, about the same time of year, have to beat Wolves at home to go top, and we bottled it.... all downhill from there....the parallels are so clear
You have to take these chances when presented to you, and we just have not done it.
2. Burnout - same issue as last season, we are running out of steam.. why? are we not fit enough? if so why not? yeah we have injuries but so does everyone.
3. Attitude - STINKS ! in the NLD more than any other game the attitude was awful. The players seem to think that they are literally the dogs testes, and they got shown up big time in the derby and have been ever since. But even before that, (Stevenage away) our attitude seemed to be questionable. Perhaps beating Newcastle 5-0 was the worst thing that could have happened to us.
Also, does anyone else get the feeling that the players know that Harry is off? Ex pros have always said that if you give a player a an excuse for not performing, then they will use it.
4. Set pieces. I have honestly been going on about this for years, and it never gets better. Our attacking set pieces are just so unbelievably poor I cannot believe that we spend sufficient time on them, which is unforgiveable. (I bet you man u and man city work on them !, and that is where we want to be.)
5. Gareth Bale/Luka Modric - dont look bothered in my opinion. Bale has decided to give himself a free role it seems (hopefully its that way round, rather than Harry being too inept to see that its not working, and thus perseveering with it).
These are our best two players, so play them in their best positions. Bale is not Ronaldo, he is a top left winger. Modric is not a left midfielder, he is a top central midfielder.
6. Questionable tactics - going with two dms away at Everton.. really?? really? yes they are a good side in good form, but COME ON!!! we were just asking them to dominate the game... and thats what happened early in the game.. and they scored.. surprise surprise we ran the show when we had Modric in the middle.
7. Harry - looks tired, maybe its all too much for him with the court case. When we are struggling he doesnt seem to be out the dugout talking to the team at all. Or is it the England job turning his head? whatever it is, Levy needs to get to the bottom of it because we are suddenly not looking top 4 certainties... which, whether or not we win the FA cup , will lead to major problems this summer keeping players, and getting the players that we are linked with. Lots of people have seen us linked to Eden Hazard..well the way its going.. he will be looking at us and Arsenal and will pick Arsenal
8 Defence - considering that we have had more or less the same back 4 all season.. why suddenly we look like the biggest shambles at the back? What was Kaboul doing for the goal yesterday? The guy walked round him, and the Kaboul made no effort to get back he just jogged towards our goal. Joke.
9. No reserve winger. Along with the set piece issue this is the other thing that I have been going on about for years. Our game is based on having quick, dangerous widemen. So why do we only have two i the squad..both injury prone ! when one of them is out our whole shape changes to the worst, but we still havent had the savviness to get in a reserve out and out winger. he doesnt need to be world class, he just needs to give us some balance !
Finally a positive
10. Take a snapshot of the league
Ok forget current form, as thing stand, the fact is that even if Arsenal win tomorrow, we are still ahead and we have comfortably the kinder run in to Arsenal, and certainly to Chelsea, a position that we would have taken at the start of the season.
Make no mistake about it, I think that Stoke at home up next is literally our most important game of the season..it is a MUST win. we must not go to chelsea away with the chance of them catching us if they beat us.
In conclusion - Harry sort your head out... do you want to be here or not? Bale, you are not Ronaldo, do what you do best, get out to the left and give your ego a nap. Reflect, regroup, and ROUND PEGS IN ROUND HOLES. We need to get behind the boys now. our next two games (FA cup, and Stoke) are must win.
We can still do this, we are just doing it the hard way, the Tottenham way.

Good comments about Bale and Modric.
If i am not mistaken , Parker and Modric were quite on a same page till 40 min in NLD. why brake that partnership i dont know. Its not like you have a short bench to cover for Lenon.
Bale..well , He is the one who benefited the most from Modric/Parker tick tac toe play in the middle. That gave him time to pic his spots and force oposition to pay attention somewhere else but him. Speed requaries space. Dont get crowded.
Corluka , why did Tottenham let this guy go..
When Corluka was regular Tottenham had one of the best defensive record in PL. Mind you Lenon was at his best with Charlie
BTW Tottenham will still finish third

walker has been good for us... walker and lennon is good but to be fair so was corluka lennon. if we still had corluka we could play him rb and walker rw when lennon was out so that we dont lose our balance

Walker is good with potential to improve. Corluka was experienced international who could give a break to both Walker and BEA.
It was just strange not to give Charlie any playing time.
i have seen Charlie play beauty on right side. most recently in Instambul when he was best player on a pitch in our win. Croatia that is

corluka is class in my opinion. born to defend. and agreed... he would be useful to have around at the moment

This sums everything up EXACTLY.
On the subject of no cover for our wingers, choosing not to sign Hoillett, presumably because Levy wasn't happy to pay for someone out of contract in the summer (albeit under 24), looks a poor on. Obviously we're not sighted on the facts, but if either Bale or Lennon are out, we look completely different. And hey, if Bale is playing centrally against 'arry's orders, he could have replaced him with Hoillett.
Still a potential summer signing, but as with last year, it might be too little too late...
