Stevie G's comment

"We don't want to get into the habit of losing games, but in between the losses we've had a Carling Cup victory." - Stevie G.

Sorry to tell you this Stevie but we didn't beat Cardiff, we drew 2-2 after extra time against a team that is not even in the top 4 of the Championship.

I suppose you never won the Champions League in 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006, using that logic.

I didn't say we didn't win the Carling Cup, just didn't win the match.

He said a Carling cup victory, he didn't say we beat Cardiff.

The victorious team gets the cup, and we have the cup. So what he has said is correct.

Speaking of which, Charlie Adam's penalty smashed my flat window the other night!

what is happening on here?? we have one of our own fans picking the bones out of a comment about us winning a trophy!!!??

I know, talk about petty! And why even bother writing an article on it?! What is your point OP given your original one is clearly incorrect. You're saying he said we beat Cardiff, when you maintain we didn't beat them, we drew. In the case of a 90 minute league game, yes we didn't best them, but was it a league game? No. It was a cup game, in which the Victor had to be decided by penalty shootout.

If the world cup was decided by penalty shoot out, do you think no one wins the game? If that's the case why bother giving them the cup?

Come on surely you're not that daft.

He's got a point though, it's not as if we've won in 4 or 5 games now.

No, my point is that when you look up the result of a drawn final it always gives you the score after 120 minutes i.e. 0-0, 1-1, 2-2 etc.

I think that lifting the CC, great as it was after 6 years of nothing, must not be allowed to paper over the fact that right now we are just not playing winning football and that we could not even outscore a Championship team in over 120 minutes of football. That was my point and if it sounds petty, I am sorry.

Crystal Palace beat Man U (they didnt ourscore a championship team)...what does that mean???
its irrelevant how you win a final, taking home the cup is what matters.
