After that peformance by Martin Kelly he has to start right back until the end of the season feeling for me is Johnson:
Loads of people slate his defending, correct me if im wrong but around about 3 seasons ago bale got slapped for being such a poor left back but great at going forward.
Now i know johnson is older but when he is forward from right back his crossing is great it might be what provides Carroll9 with the right balls he has always had a eye for goal so maybe its time we tried him there?
Riena
Kelly Skrtel Agger Enrique
Lucas Gerrard
Johnson Downing
Suarez
Carroll
Subs: Doni, Carra, Coates, Maxi, Hendo, Bellamy, Kuyt

OMFG.
He does not play there.
He does not want to play there.
He is a right back.
He should play right back.
The end.

We should concentrate our efforts in the summer on signing players in positions that need strengthening. Right wing, striker or two and a creative attacking midfeilder. Above all else we need pace in the summer!

Bale was always touted as a left back/winger, he played plenty of games at both for Southamton and Wales before settling at left wing. Johnson has never played there.

This argument that because a fullback is good going forward means that he can play on the wing is rubbish and really annoys me.
You hear it all the time; he's good at going forward lets play him at right midfielder. Johnson is good at going forward but he is not a right midfielder. The same argument could be used fror Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Alves, Maicon, Lahm, Cashley etc etc. They are all good going forward but no manager ever decided to play them as wingers/wide midfielders. That's because they are specialist fullbacks. The reason they have joy going forward is because most of the time they are overlapping the winger in front of them, and more often than not they've escaped their marker who is usually a winger (ie not as good at defending).

Perhaps Johnson doesnt want to play RW- but who is a better option right now?

Johnson on Twitter has threatened to slap the next person that suggests playing him out of position.

Lads, I made up that quote from Johnson! It didn't really happen!
I can't believe this has caught on.
