OK, so he is a defender from a League 2 club. Now I am willing to give him a chance, but I am of course worried that without championship experience he will struggle, particularly with a team like Reading.
In an ideal world we would be recruiting from the Premiership (Actually in an ideal world the squad would have sufficient cover, but never mind). So, as always I have both positive and negative feelings about this.
He seems to be a regular starter with Vale so they must rate him, and the reason they are relinquishing him is because they are having financial difficulties, and so there will probably be a fee or at least they have got him off the wage bill, and in that case Hill could've simply unearthed another gem thus profiting from another club's misfortune. (I don't like this in principle but that's football and we ourselves cannot afford to splash out).
Or, and this is what worries me. Hill does not trust the cover we have and is utterly desperate to find someone/anyone to cover. We can field Wiseman Foster McNulty and McEverley. And after that our options are limited. The three players I can think of are Doyle, Miller and Stones.
God knows what is going on with Doyle, one minute his is in the starting 11, next he is nowhere to be seen. I highly rate Stones but he is probably too young, but Rose and Digger have been playing recently so who knows.
As for Kern Miller, can anyone shed any light on him at all? On loan to a pub team or something I imagine. I saw him in the reserves once and he looked OK, Thoughts?

Well we desperately need cover at the back...It's probably a glorified trial with an eye on next season. Vale also have a goal machine....Marc Richards, anyone...

Golbourne is injured so we need someone, I've read some encouraging things about Collins who it would appear we are considering for next year.
There's a pattern here, a number of those KH has brought in have represented their countries at youth or U21 level, but their careers have stuttered for one reason or another and they've ended up at lower league clubs.
Ideal candidates for rehabilitation under KH, I would have thought.
I was surprised to find out that around 15 of our squad have made international appearances.

Sparty, Miller is no longer on our books from what I remember.
He was shown the door in early January and joined Hereford before he also had his contract terminated by them. A few sites mention he is now playing for Gainsborough Trinity

From the look of it Collins is set to sign as a player with us permanently, the fee has been agreed and it is written as a loan to the end of the season and then move as Vale need the cash now and we want a cut price player.
Good to see us pick up another defender.
