Promotion?

Now, before everyone starts shouting!! to make the play offs 74 or 75 points will be required, now we stand on 51 points and have 10 games left. We beat a good Birmingham side last night and looked resilent.

Do you believe we can win 8 games out of 10 from the below:

Blackpool - away (1 point)
Hull - Home (3 points)
Forrest - Home (3 points)
Peterborough - away (3 points)
Doncastor - Home (3 points)
Ipswich - away (3 points)
Millwall - away (1 points)
Burnley - Home (3 points)
West Ham - Home (3 points)
Leeds - away (3 points)

Ok i might have a couple away games wrong, but if we win our remaining home games and 2 away wins? its do able.......

Honestly? No.

I'd rather we just took each match as it comes, try to enjoy each challenge as it comes and hopefully see some decent performances. Do that and any results and promotion pushes will take care of themselves.

Sadly, I don't think we have a hope in hell of winning 8 in 10.

Doesn't mean I'm not hoping it happens though!!

We've won-lost-won-lost-won-lost our way right through this season, usually winning when we're expected to lose and losing when we're expected to win. I look at that fixture list and see little reason to expect anything different for the last handful of games sadly.

Dunge got it exactly right above. We need to just enjoy the last few games of the season and take the pressure off. Should we suddenly have a good run of results then it will be a bonus.
I think the predicted results above are far too fanciful.

Blackpool - away 1-1
Hull - Home 1-1
Forrest - Home 2-0
Peterborough - away 2-2
Doncastor - Home 3-1
Ipswich - away 1-2
Millwall - away 1-1
Burnley - Home 2-0
West Ham - Home 1-1
Leeds - away 0-1

14 points by my predictions, gives us 65, which won't be enough for play offs.

Here's a curious, not wholly literate but rather cheering post I found on the Birmingham JA606 site after the match this week -

"You have to remember that Leicester are a good side who had a disapointing first half a season. Like Arsenal, us being disapointed by defeat at Leicester could be like Spurs against Arsenal.

A lot was expected of Arsenal but they was disapointing but now they at their best. Leicester have a good side they must be considered a good favorites for Play Off places."

If only that were so.

It's those silly results that have hurt us so badly this season. Take our recent run: I can accept defeat away at Reading (good side who'd just won 7 in a row), but to lose to a poor Bristol City side is so frustrating.

Imagine if we'd won that game it would be 4 wins from 5 and we'd be so much closer to the play offs. That, however, has been the pattern all season: Millwall at home, Watford away, Doncaster away etc.. etc.. and is why I believe that, for this season at least, we are just not good enough.
