WI vs India - 2nd test match, day 3

There doesn't seem to be a thread here about the ongoing test match. So I'm creating this one if anyone cares to discuss the match.

As it stands, the game is well poised. WI have a crucial partnership going between the two last recognized batsmen in their lineup. They did will to resist the Indian aggression yesterday. But, the advantage is still with India who took two wickets in 20 odd overs yesterday.

I would like to see these two make a fist of it and give the WIndies a fighting chance to win this game! It's been a very entertaining series so far. The advantage has been with the bowlers, but it's been a pleasure watch battling performances like Laxman's to bring India out of a desperate situation. Let's hope Shiv/Samuels can do the same.

I've kept an eye on the scorecards but not much more, seems the west indies are competeing with the ball but have an inexperienced batting lineup which is struggling, they need their experienced guys to step up when it matters e.g. in the first innings when they can influence the game and give themselves a chance of winning.

Good point made about WI producing results pitches, they should be complemented for this and long may it continue.

finally, the game's underway! interesting news regarding replays for MS Dhoni dismissal though. turns out the broadcasting company provided the third umpire with the wrong replay clip!

haha wonder if england might get anyway with that when sachin, sehwag, dravid are batting in a fews time

well exactly, I imagine the BCCI's/ Indian team's position will be less forgiving seeing as they aren't the biggest fans of the referral system anyway. This will lower their confidence even further... what a gaff!

"This was a case of human error, compounded by a senior replay operative having to return home at very short notice."

That senior operative will have some explaining to do!

great effort from sharma and samuels. 40 odd overs left- will be interesting to see how india do! WIndies will be fired up no doubt'.

Poor Dhoni. Got out to no ball twice in 3 innings. And what the fu++ is honest mistake? Its criminal callousness. Was that guy drunk? How can you provide a wrong replay and how that progressed to the catch?
Its criminal mistake and those guys must be fired.

can't understand what india s game plan is. Tagging along at 2 and a half per over. Are they playing to win the match or avoiding having to field.

Kohli 21 runs in 82 balls...! when there is no danger in the game to india. audience will die by the close of the game....already half dead from rain now and then.

Dhoni's positive move has to be commended considering the previous scores he has declared on. I'm disappointed that they didn't manage to bowl them out in 70 odd overs. Close, but Ishant seemed to be on his own with menace.

Even more disappointed with Harbhajan. World class spinners take advantage of any pitches and to be frank he came up short big time. Mithun was ineffective as well, but atleast he tried his heart out. Saying that, the Windies did very well to not lose- esp bravo and shiv. Excellent work by the groundsman in producing a result pitch; I really enjoyed the test match!
